CAUTION!!! NOT AN EXPERT CAUTION!!!! Just a guy in his garage working on old motorcycles. I enjoy working on and riding vintage motorcycles. My family encouraged me to start this channel to document the efforts in getting these motorcycle going again. So here we are, 50+ years old acting like a millennial. Hope you enjoy the videos.
Hello from Australia. I have recently bought a CX500 Turbo and shipped it from Europe. It's in pretty good condition, but a couple of cosmetic things need work. In one of your videos you mentioned the mufflers that you restored but I cannot find the video. I love your Turbo vids, so if you can send me the link, that would be great. Many thanks Brendan
I recently bought a 71 CL350 with a CB350 Panther Gold gas tank w less than 10K miles. On eBay, all the 350 parts are available, but beware of buying parts that are other people's junk. Like the 50-year-old brittle side cover I bought that shattered after I put a few pounds of pressure on it. Typically, a good used fender will be about $100-25, but a NOS wrapped in plastic $500-50. I also have an 80 CBX.
ONE SMALL motorcycle wheel plus two bicycle wheels = a wind turbine. See and read the detail in the description of the video entitled: "MOULIN A VENT avec ROUES SANS RUE" or "3 BICYCLE WHEELS make a WIND TURBINE. (read video description by clicking on (...more)
I still have my XS2. Bought it used way back in 1978 and it had been repainted. I fixed it up and rode it for many years. Ended up getting a couple other bikes but always hung on the the old 650. Ethanol gas ruined the carbs (ate up the brass floats) and I unfortunately have let it sit for many years now, however, I have all the parts I need to get it going again when I make time for it. This was probably my favorite bike of all. I loved the sound, the torque, the easy starting, the incredible reliability, everything. Seeing your bike makes me want to get mine going again...
@@motorcyclerewind I think $150 on Marketplace. We went riding today. Great ride on enduros through awesome trials. I lost it on the Honda CRF 250 in a sand trap. Launched from the bike and my head hit a fallen oak branch. Glad I had my helmet on. Very good. Shoulder a little sore. Next time I will wear my armor.
One gear huh? That does look fun! Hey, will you be able to ride your pit bike on the road around the grounds at Barber? I'm thinking since my e-bike has no tag they wont let me ride it around.
That's a funky little bike. Those handlebar controls look like Lucas controls (like the British bikes have.) Half the reason I help people get their motorcycles running is so I can hopefully take it for a spin when we're done. Plus it feels good when you get one running or get it running better than it was.
When i was a kid i had a 73 honda sl70 that would do 55 miles an hour. Lol at 12 years old i was flying and i rode it all over the back country roads where we lived. This little bike is just as cool.
@@motorcyclerewind yes the vintage pedal starts. Loved them. Scooters are fun too. I know there was a difference with permits etc in CA back in the day. Love the small stuff. 50 cc crowd.
I remember seeing these in the UK when I was at school in the 80's, lots of them about, along with the Honda Express the one with the bicycle style wheels and normally bright yellow or orange frames
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the original use Manx Norton-style Hairpin valve springs and the later ones used coils... I haven't check my facts, so apologies if I'm wrong.
As an old MC fanatic with 50 years on two wheels, watching this is heart breaking! I always wondered what is wrong with people in America. Throwing things away like garbage when it can be restored and more or less last "for ever"! I guess Americans used to be spoiled prats! Now a days they maybe will think twice before throwing their bikes away like garbage!
@@motorcyclerewind Uhhh... I am sure! I would love to be there with a container and ship a lot of projects for people to have fun with! It is getting quite popular to restore old bikes here (Not the US, but Europe) Best hobby ever!😄😄
