When it comes to engines you have no idea what you're talking about. Completely opposite Yamaha has a better motor than Honda and built quality the same if not better than Honda also made in Japan. Honda's single cam RFVC motors were notorious for top end and Valve problems as Yamaha is a DOHC in case you have not noticed and has ZERO problems.

Id keep xr no electric leg bumber however few mods on xr pipe jetting fork spring s oil weigh s braided brake line s which is all easy to do results in a bullet proof bike that can hold its own in bigger capacity company 😊

So wait: the TTR has an extra-high 6th gear, or is the gear ratio just higher in general for all the gears?
@TBSL71
@TBSL71 15 дней назад
I think the gears seem a little more spread and the 6th seems a little longer, however I have just changed the gearing to 13/48 for a more off road trail riding bias as i burned the clutch out on some technical stuff in Wales last time out

XR all day
@Trigsbroom
@Trigsbroom Месяц назад
I've owned both, very different bikes. The XR was unburstable, but hot starting was a real problem, really not ideal in the middle of a 6 hour enduro. TTR was a better all-rounder, I only had problems with the spragg-clutch, otherwise excellent.
@TBSL71
@TBSL71 15 дней назад
agreed on both accounts. I have decided to keep the TTR and invested in some mods like 22l acerbis tank, 13/48 gearing, better clutch with stonger springs, shorty levers etc. also got a 350 kit on order which I will post a series of vids once it arrives.

Thanks everyone for watching this vid, I can understand why the disappointment, it`s like an advert for the big fight, and then no big fight lol. There was supposed to be the full vs battle straight after this one, however, the truth is, since making this vid, I have had issues with the TTR and rebuilt the engine, kinda twice. So to answer the first question of reliability and build quality, in this instance, the Honda definitely has it by a mile. Just bad luck? perhaps, but The Honda is a very high quality bike, and I`d say, the breakdowns aside, still slightly higher quality than the TTR. I have just had the TTR out in mid Wales at the weekend for the first ride off road so will do a vid asap. Many Thanks for your patience!
