Just haveing some fun video disclaimer Red Dog saws is not liable for any damage, injury ,lost of life, these videos are purely for entertainment and should not be re-enacted only by a trained professional as covered by Australian law
@damodoesall6240 without pulling it apart they are on par by looking at them this one has a metal starter but I think it also has a EPA muffler while the V4 doesn't
@damodoesall6240 the 70 cc is based on a Husqvarna 372. The 62 is based on the generic Chinese chainsaw which is a zenoah clone. The 372 has a lot more balls and lighter
the chance of getting electrocuted goes through the roof while wearing one of these on a construction site dnt see the point in wearing one of these tbh plus in the ozzy heat it would get hot as fuck on your head lol
For $99, they are not bad, but you have to work on them as They have a catalytic converter and small epa ports but they give you plenty to hog out but I would get a Perla Barb 62cc V4 for chinese saw a lot less work
Good video, saw these myself at Mitre 10 for $99 ,still a lot of chainsaw for the money, only problem is that some of them have dodgy coils straight out of the box,but still not bad for the price 🤙
The stock saw restricted muffler, too much rpm, to lean, will still rev and not smoke w with dirty air filter they run too hot and it's epa and planned obsolescence. Mtronic or autotune will destroy the engine. Ethanol turns to water, oil don't mix with water and 50/1 is only 2 percent.
You are right , funny thing about this saw is the muffler is completely empty no EPA whatsoever and the carburettor is Fully adjustable form the factory maybe it's because of our lax EPA rules down hear, I'm thinking it might just be an air leek
@procrastinator1842 no I haven't but it can be done you just use locktied and no key way just make sure you mark top dead centre on the flywheel before you move it
I have this same one, bought in 2009. Besides wearing out the bar, several chains, fuel lines and cleaning....it still rips. I did the muffler mod a few years back. Parts are still easy to get. Love it.
Fascinating...thanks for posting! A female ratchet is not odd. Old 1930's American Craftsman Circle H Ratchets were the same. The screw on the side of the Ratchet does look interesting. Tension control?
I wouldn't be surprised if they copied those ratchets from Lend Lease equipment from the war which is funny because it's funny that they still make them today
I might not snapped one but I've snapped plenty of British ones over the years on old engines I don't think it matters what country it's from anything can break good or bad
These are old school tools made using hard tempered steel virtually impossible to break, reminds me of when SIDCHROME was made in Australia,a socket set would last you a lifetime.SNAPON tools would be the equivalent of our Sidchrome back in the day. These socket sets would have been used by a lot of farmers in Europe on their equipment many years ago these would have been a valuable asset for them 🙋♂️
@giuseppelatina2640 You had the trust your life with tools like this. If you ever get stuck out of middle of nowhere where you have to fix your gear or get eaten by bears or freeze
@@reddogsaws I don't think it's the reason. Human life in the USSR was valued very little. Also, those tools are very possible to be damaged, when used incorrectly.
@radosawkapuscinski2808 almost all tools can be missued if they are in the right hands. That why snapon have the idiot tax on the warranty of there tools.v
Yes everywhere in 1994,my uncle bought one and used it for years in his big house block. These were later marketed/rebranded as MTD until the very early 2000s,good video as always 🙋♂️
Here's a tip for making a wood fire oven you might have to run air tubes down to the back of the fire from the front so you get a nice even burn as in a separate video I did this so I had to modify it to get more air into it but I'm running mine as an incinerator not like an oven
Occasionally I have seen these at cash converters over the years sometimes from deceased estates. These are Japanese made Kioritz engines,or engines made by Mitsubishi, some of these came out with TK slide valve carburettors similar to those used on Shindaiwa brushcutter T260 if I am correct 👍
Looks like a decent saw for what it was/is ,would have done the job back in the day for a good price.Interesting project to work on unfortunately if you can source out the parts, all the best 🙋♂️
@giuseppelatina2640 parts are hard for them. I'm too scared to take intake boot off in case it snaps, got some parts as they share some with talon leaf blowers
@user-pw9tm9nl4j I just type in 372 big bore kit on eBay. for some reason, RU-vid doesn't allow me to send links. mine was just a generic one, but it came in a farmatech bag, so it might have been a factory reject as I had the machine 60 of the bottom
