CORRECTION: wanted to clarify the population numbers of Rome in mid-first century; I mentioned there were 20mil left homeless after the fires, roughly half the population. The Roman EMPIRE was approximately 50-60million people (half would've been 25-30 million), but the CITY of Rome was approximately 2 million. So those left homeless after the fires would have been around 1 million, not 20.
