@@henry_barnabaswell. Assume you extract coordinates from global mapper as you did, what comes first? Eastings or northings? And what would happen if I imported points to civil 3d using PNEZD format instead of PENZD which you used?
The description of each column will always be at the top, and so you can know which comes first. Don't forget that you can switch the position of columns in excel by a simple cut and paste. The implecation of using the opposite format is simple that it would take you to somewhere else on the globe; you would evidently notice the distorted orientation.
