he is not african descent, he is black due to the effects of his home planet nocturne because that place is scorching. All inhabitants of that planet and all salamander space marine are black with red eyes
He is probably one of the most balanced of all Primarchs. He has literally stood against the whispers of Khorne for an eternity. In the Primarch Book of Rogal Dorn, he thanks one of his sons after he lost a duel of honor in his name. no anger or reproach. He simply thanks his son for doing his best. Dorn is without question one of the most inspirational leaders the Empire has ever had. No wonder so many of his brothers saw him as a “big brother”.
