Brian started Aviate Alabama as a hobby to curate his videos from planespotting adventures he took. After finding success with such viral videos as Michael Jordan's private GulfStream G550 (#N236MJ) and Chase Elliott piloting his personal Cessna 525 #N9CE, Brian, found himself knee deep in a new business built around his passion.
Besides watching airplanes for a living, Brian is most proud of the loyal community surrounding planespotting. It is their support that keeps Aviate Alabama in the air. Brian is also proud to show his kids that you can actually be successful chasing your dreams and to never give up on them.

Awesome video! I was on that 737 MAX 8 that you caught land and takeoff towards the end of the video. Came in from Chicago and was headed to Orlando after. Awesome shot brother!

Another nice vid! I always catch these things after the live stream because I work nights and sleep during the day. Nice work! (By the way, the radio adds to it. I can keep up with who's coming and going through the radio traffic!) It was nice to see those small jets using RWY 36!
Thank you! Good to have the feedback on the radio I wasn’t sure if it was a positive or negative! I know I find it useful but sometimes there’s an echo and I’m not sure why
@@aviatealabama I haven't noticed an echo, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. To me, the radio adds depth to the video by way of the ATC traffic referencing approaching aircraft. I'm able to follow which airline to expect from the radio traffic. It's your channel, but I do enjoy the audio.
I’ll let it run on the next stream even if I hear the echo then! The last time I was out it was fun listening because ATC and an airliner were talking about how the plane was empty coming in just interesting… I remember a year or so ago listening to ATC gave me a heads up that there were about to be some F-16s about to make a sneak appearance! Which speaking of the red tails - I’ve been surprised there haven’t been any F-35s coming through yet!
@aviatealabama I'd be inclined to say you might see some of then when you least expect it, especially on weekends when ANG units could be on maneuvers.

Thanks again for tuning in David! I can’t tell ya how much it means to have some regulars on my channel! Yep! Sure am but it is mostly looking at radar, looking up aircraft registrations, flight schedules etc. I normally try to do it from my phone to minimize the noise but my kid came out with me yesterday so I let her have my phone so she wouldn’t be bored to death lol The Southwest flight did do a go around and I believe it was because of that Cirrus that had broken down. I was tracking the southwest flight so when they made that decision I don’t know if the Cirrus was stuck on the runway still and trying to get over to the taxiway and that’s why not totally sure but that’s my best guess of what was happening there. I’m going to try to be back out there Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday!

A bit long for the nosewheel touchdown as the tendency is to hold it up. Touchdown is all about energy management, and when the wings stop providing lift, the nose will hit harder.
It was in for some sort of maintenance at Kaiser Aircraft Industries. It was only here for a day. It flew in from Orlando and then left the next day back to Orlando and has been back in service since. Not sure what the maintenance item was though!

I meant to mention on your comment the other day on the other video that the police officer that told me I couldn’t film from the hill said that just the day before they had a clown up there flying a drone!! 🙄 just blows my mind how reckless some can be so I told him I completely understood!
My brother was a flight nurse with Air Methods for several years. (Same company livery). Those appear to be skid floats. Prob a $100k add on to keep the craft upright if possible in a water ditching because water egress training is an entire thing. My brother lives in nearby Pensacola. I’m near 2 Level 1 hospitals and can tell helo types by sound. That’s clearly a 407. We have 2 rare MD-900s here for med flights. Very quiet with the NOTAR.
Thanks for the story! That’s really cool! I had no idea that skid floats cost that much but also doesn’t surprise me. There’s a contract company that operates some med flights in BHM that uses an MD900!
