There was a National Community Bank on the corner by the U Haul A plumbing supply down from that, on the same side. Across from that was a Church Chicken, where Mc Donalds is now. Further down on the left was a Plymouth Dodge dealership. Across from that was a Buick dealer selling " Duece and a Quarters, Lesabres, and Riviera's like hot cakes in the 60/70/80's. Down at the bottom was the Ryman.Pontiac Dealer selling Bonnevilles, and GTO's. Across the road was the Bonfire Restaurant, where politicians used to meet and have fundraisers. A few blocks over in the back were Gasoline alley, and Gurnsey crest Ice Cream. Market St up to where Zabriski Chevrolet was ,used to be called the used car capitol of Passaic county. There were all kinds of shady characters selling resurrected wrecks And rewound odometers, and cars held together with duct tape, chickenwire, and spray canned paint jobs. Sy, The Ex GI, Check with Chick, make a deal with Murray's and other slick cigar chomping charlatans! I miss those days!
PattyLove8888 Thank you! I probably missed a lot of recollections, that would have fleshed out how vibrant that, and other parts of Paterson we're to me when I was operating my business there. It is the same fond recollections I have, for my growing up in the Passaic, Clifton area. Sometimes we yearn for the "Good Old days",to make ourselves feel relevant to the stark realities of change,and evolution around us.if that makes any sense. Ok! I've woken up now! I'm still an old man!
I used to work at Leschel Buick. It was next to Alabama projects. Reiman Pontiac turned into a gun shop There was also Sonny Chevrolet down the street selling Corvettes and Camaros
Cecilia Manjarrez 🌷🌷 Hola Cecilia, como no tenia quien me ayude a grabar, solo grabe los ingredientes , pero la receta esta en el canal de “ Aprendiendo a Cocinar como Mamá “ de nuestra querida amiga Estelita.... Tienes que tener todo para tu aderezo, picar cebolla, tomate,ajos, aji panca/ especial , pimiento rojo , arverjas y condimentos... siempre tener a mano agua hervida, por si necesitas ,puedes preparar- picar- cortar con tiempo tu coliflor , tus papas y carne.... Cuando hagas tu aderezo , agregas la carne , hay que dejarlo unos minutos 10, depende que tamaño cortaste la carne,luego agregas las papas, las puedes cortar en cubos o como para lomo saltado, hay que taparlo, hasta que la papa esté lista 8-10 o 12 mnts, le pones las arverjas, un poco , no mucho, y cuando la papa ya esté lista , agregas la coliflor, esperas unos 10 o 15 mnts... al final, le agregas culantro picado....ojalá te haya explicado bien, pero sino busca la receta del Estelita , saludos 🌷🌷🌷🇵🇪🇵🇪
