My name is James and I am car enthusiast with a prestige used car showroom based in Paignton, Devon - UK. I'll talk anyone's ear off about cars so I figured that I may as well film it and subject you guys to it too. That way it will give those around me a bit of a break!

I sold mine in January due to my traders policy excluding Range Rovers. I was gutted and thought I’d regret selling it. Fast forward 5 months and I wouldn’t have a JLR car given now. Unreliable manufacturer doesn’t give a toss about theft as it actually helps them sell cars to customers who had theirs stolen. You’d be surprised at the % or sales which replace a stolen vehicle. I think anybody that buys one now is mad. And yes I loved mine.
I have a 525D F11. Best family car I ever had. Comfortable, smooth silent car. I know diesel engines are noisy but inside the car you can barely hear it.
bought this Cat new in 2017... 56k miles on the clock and zero issues. I take care of it so it still looks new, inside and out. great reliability. 5k oil changes and tranny fluid change at 30k. Great car
Best mileage ive managed 62.7 A12 M25 Orpington Shirley to Croydon so claimed 62.8 plus is not a false claim by jaguar but it was very Conservative driving. So other claims on mpg are pretty much what I'm getting so no problems there. I've had mine 6 plus years and have no intention of getting rid of it still love driving it. The only thing i personally would have liked to see was a temperature gauge and a dip stick, you can tell a lot from these two, my only gripe otherwise an excellent car, I do the servicing myself really easy to work on so no complaints there either. The only problems I've experienced was a front passenger door lock and tailgate, but once sorted no problems. The longest drive in one day was an 827 mile trip to Middlesbrough and back. Excellent cruising car with little to no fatigue.
Can you add front cameras? I really would like that to help with front parking. If anyone has any ideas on adding aftermarket cameras please give links
I’m considering a Freelander2 HSE after driving one in a quarry on Sunday towing a trailer. Very capable off road and good torque. Nice quiet engine for a diesel.
Owned the 380bhp model just over 4 years. To date very reliable. When the warranty expired I added 200 cell CATs, upper and lower pulleys, air intake, remap pushing out 465bhp 565Nm. Eibach hub centric spacers and the very important Michelin 4s. Great car which will be very hard to replace. If you can find the one I highly recommend.
Yep i own a 2018 sonic blue with the latest wheels on it, biught with low mileage 16k last year...i held off and held off to save and find the spec and colour i wanted. Then my current car broke so had to bite the bullet and get one. The sonic blue has grown on me and i have cream interior (which isnt something id choose) but love the car. Hopefully doesn't give me any problems as mine was 77k new.
God I love my Puma 2.2 hard top, its so different!!!Here in Aussie its all Toyota landcruiser and Nissan Patrol. But the Defender is so light and capable in any situation,I was Toyota landcruiser before the Defender but no Regrets whatsoever.
Have a 2014 HSE Auto in Santorini black automatic coming up to 98k wonderful car a few build quality niggles such as leaking rear high level brake light and failing door lock actuators but wonderful ride and the 2.2 is very responsive hoping to keep it for a few more years yet
Of the 8 people I know including myself that have or have had the 3litre Diesel engine in Range Rover or disco 4 , only one has the original engine !!! Camshafts!!! One as low as 28,000 miles !!
I've been looking into one of these I've been told many people that the timing chain is a problem crank shaft and the turbos can you update me on these problems
Alas, it suffers from cliff-face depreciation, high maintenance costs and I really can't be doing with that fake noise dome speaker on the exhaust system just to make it sound throaty. Apart from that it's lovely to look at!
Great video - thanks. Own a 2018 r sport supercharged, and after upgrading intake, lower and upper pulleys, a tune from Velocity, and downpipes from Fabspeed, boy is this thing unreal. The best fun I have had driving. The sound is incredible and the power is outstanding. It has been a reliable car for the two years I have owned the car. It has so much power I drive her in Eco mode half the time !!
I have short listed three cars that I am interested in buying. 2015 Maserati Ghibli, 2013 BMW 640d and a 2014 Jaguar XJ all roughly the same price. As someone who has done videos on all three which would you say in your opinion is the best of the three or the one that you would enjoy owning more. Thanks.
My Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic, stunning car, serviced on point, Pirelli tyres everytime etc 114'000 miles on the clock however 4 weeks ago, split DPF sensor pipe which then led to turbo problems. Long story short, 4 weeks in the garage, new turbo but continual faults throwing up now and limp mode issues from 4th gear onwards and no end in site. Gutted.
@@condorvehiclesalesltdnew DPF sensor, throttle body, turbo & actuator. Now runs perfect. I hear LR are now in courts for faulty DPF sensors which were 'tampered' with causing malfunctions. The intention? To increase service intervals
Buying one on monday found a 15 reg with 28,000 miles with front and rear camera. I cant wait to get this. I already have a xe a 19 reg diesel but im going older as i want the v6.
I had a 2014 diesel. I had it 7 years and I loved it. I drove over 100k in it myself, very few issues. MTC is a bit crap tho. Enough power for most situations but not a fast car, quite economical.
Great vehicle and extremely well priced (just checked on your website) love the red interior and red body with the black wheels. Am sure you won’t have it in stock for long! Take care
It’s never a video about a RR if the comment section isn’t littered with “totally unreliable” or “money pit” mostly from people who haven’t actually owned one. Just parroting what they have seen or heard. Do Range Rovers have issues, of course they do. Do other premium marques have issues? Of course they do. I’ve had an L494 SDV8 Autobiography for 6 months now. Had a few little issues, oil cooler gaskets were weeping. Both handbrake actuators were cracked and causing fault codes. Fixed myself for under £300. The suspension wouldn’t go into access mode at first, took the silencer off the compressor and cleaned it and hey pesto the suspension was working as it should. Also had no heated or cooled driver seat. Unbolted it and flipped the seat back and the heated seat module was unplugged. Not everything needing fixed on a Range Rover is a budget breaking event. 🤷🏻♂️ As with all my previous cars I will service it every 5-6000 miles to help maintain the engine. Manufacturer service intervals are always pushing the limit to make cars seem more appealing keeping servicing costs down. My wife’s uncle has an SDV6 and he had quite a few issues but he swears by them. When the engine went in it he went and bought a 20 plate SVR.
Had one D300 MHEV for 2 years and 40k miles with no problems. Previously a LR Defender D250 HSE and a Jaguar F Pace 3.0 V6d with no significant problems. Range Rover Sport is a great do it all car and very comfortable. Had more problems with BMWs and Volvos prior but still good cars and all marks have issues.
It’s genuinely a shame if that’s been your experience, but it hasn’t been mine 👍 as I say, I took mine over through Europe with 167k miles on it, didn’t miss a beat in the 2400 miles I did in the week of hard miles 👍
