My god... 3:58 Good ole' attacking with just zerglings up a ramp into a terran wall - you were lucky it was made of wet cardboard. What rank is this, sir? Because your opponent has no idea how to wall off lmao
I def get that you're starting out and just kind of messing around. If you want to get better you can get super autistic about this game. Obviously, watch the pros. Seral is the best zerg. Just sit and watch your own game and think about why you made each decision. I saw a lot of decisions here that didn't make sense. Why not go up the ramp with at least a few roaches after your initial poke in? You didn't even check to see if it was unguarded or try to knock it down - instead you attacked a geser and a turret. Second, you made mutas after you already saw a pretty strong turret defense when you also saw BC's - corruptors counter BC's pretty hard, so could just make corrupters, expand. Third, got overlord speed after already making mutas. Why? You already have a fast air unit to fly around and scout with? What's the point? These are the things that me, as a player, of 9 years, think about. I don't even consider myself good - it's just how you start thinking after watching a lot of commentated games. One more point I'd like to point out is that you made hydras AND mutas. You don't need to get EVERY tech tree. You could have doubled down on mutas and air and been fine. Still, good job! you ended the game early!
Hey buddy, have encountered this strategy ..and similiar ones (like pala harras) quite often. Maybe i can give you a few hints to beat it next time. When you see that your opponent is going for a lame strat, there are three things you should do: 1) get an army that you can creep fast with. fiends are great, lich is great, orb is super important. so my first goal always was to tech to t3 fast and creep as much as possible and get good nuking and AoE heroes: dk, lich, cl / naga / dl / panda... pitlord 3d also works good against bloodmage. 4-5 fiends and tow statues. basic ud army. you should then have something like dk lvl 3 or 4, lich 3, 3d hero 2 or 3. you only go for the big camps.. dont waste time with greens! 2) you never run across the map to stop his harras! this is what makes his laming so effective. all the time you walk home, is lost time. he has a tp and a telestaff. you either keep creeping or harras his workerline with nukes. make sure to feed as few experience to him as possible. priority is to save workers and ghouls. if the goldmine dies to his flamestrike, its not the end of the world. remember he doesnt get any xp from destroying buildings except towers. he doesnt have any units to creep with so its really hard for him to get to lvl 5 without you feeding him acos. sometimes the hu uses the harras to build up towers at his expansion. your scouting needs to be on point. for your building structure: as soon as you know its bloodmage: dont clump your ziggurats together. 3)decide for a killing strategy and go through with it. what worked for me is: a) t3 destro push on towers. for this you need: three heroes, 4-5 statues, fiends, third hero should be a tanky boy. pitlird or cl. morph destros one after the other, suck mana away, morph the next. tanky heroe goes in front, gets all tanky items you have .. rings, circlet etc., frostarmor on top. he must be the first target that the towers attack. destros go for towers with shift-click and rest of the heroes nuke the workers. your opponent had three guard towers, kills those first, then the mana draining ones. its basicly gg then already. he cant fight you solo and even if you have to tp out the next attack will kill him. this strat works well up to 6 guard towers. b)if he builds more than 6 guard towers in his base, i would use a different approach. it means, his base is very secure and hard to push, but also that he needs more time to get to t3 and tanks/gryphony/knights or whatever his strategy is. by then you will have at least have 2 expansions. they dont have to be secured except maybe on slow tower. he wont be able to harras them effectivly for a long time since he only has one hero. he has to tp back heal up, go back in .. that all takes time. you will build three crypts and two slaughterhouses and will check what he is going for every minute until you know. tanks? fine we go with meatwagons and frenzy ghuls, mass gryphons? we counter with mass gargs, mass knights? we go destroyers and fiends. make sure your scouting is on point, prevent an expansion on his side. then he only has money for 1 or 2 pushes. 3c*) there is an alternative strategy: you dont go t3 but stay on t2 and go with 4-5 meatwagons, your fiend army and 3-4 workers. you camp in front of his base and shoot with the wagons on his main base, dont care if he harrasses you at home. take a sacrificial skull with you, but you only use it to build a shop. if he comes home he will try to kill your waggons with flamestrike. make sure they are a bit spread up while shooting at his main base. if he hits a flamestrike on them, repair with acos. this strategy is a bit tricky cause you need good micro to keep the wagons alife. if he sends out his workers to kill them you nuke them. if bloodmage comes, nuke him. he either looses his main hall or hast to constantly repair it. that makes it impossible to go for any valuable strategy cause he just lacks the ressources. hope i could help, i need to go back to work now :D
