The text as it should have been read: "For the most part, the contested Schmiedeleut communities were divided on a pro rata basis thus avoiding costly litigation. However, in some of the contested communities, the animosity and distrust were so deep-rooted that the agreement broke. In three of these communities, Oakbluff/Prairie Blossom, Cypress/Millshof, and Sprucewood/Fairway major disagreements erupted about the value of the assets which were to be divided. In the end, both groups bitterly accused each other of violating and breaking the agreement, and so the proverbial trenches were dug deeper as both sides refused to compromise their position to reach a consensus."
I apologize for the error made at 1:02:40 of the lecture in which I identified the contested communities are Oakbluff/Prairie Blossom, "Crystal--Cypress/Milltown, Sprucewood/Fairway. It should say Cypress/Millshof. I apologize sincerely to anyone who might have been offended by that slip on my part. My notes read Cypress/Milltown but I clearly misread the part. Again, please accept my apology, as the mistake was not intended.
Interesting Ian. When you're article comes out on 1992, I'd love to be able to read it. I have to say it's confusing to see you at a lectern and not at the net spiking a volleyball.
