As a wrestling fan, I have a question, does the suplex require assistance from the victim? Is it necessary for the victim to jump? Or, does it depend on what type of suplex?

@@SilentJay9801 this can get really nuanced and detailed but the short of it is - It depends on your goals, schedule and experience. If all you’re worried about is aesthetics, then Hypertrophy-focused training anywhere from 3-5 days is about right. But it’s more about whatever you can do and maintain consistency. For example, I always lifted 5, sometimes 6, days per week. But nowadays I train Jiu Jitsu 3-4 days per week, Pro Wrestling 1 day per week plus full time work, side business, young family etc. so it just isn’t possible and I found I was skipping too many days and burning myself out - leading to poor recovery, more injury etc. So now 4 days per week of weight training, working less towards Hypertrophy and more towards performance, is working great for me.
Just keep attending their tryouts anytime that you get the chance try to even see if you can get your foot in the door in aew... do you know anybody there🤔
WWE can be like a jealous girlfriend if you get a spot in Aew...and start to get over (just ask Will Hobbs ). .aka (powerhouse hobbs)WWE will most likely show interest they'll be BEGGING to sign you away from their competition ... just a bit of a heads up on how they operate...D...👍 Good Luck
Wow ok... just a suggestion from somebody who tried to get signed from always go to the tryouts anytime you get the chance no matter where they are just keep on their radar if they invite you to go to their tryouts even better but if you can attend them on your own dime pay the money to go to their tryouts if you possibly can that would be my suggestion to get sign there that would be your best chances and do everything you can to stand out just just like you said
That's how Keith Lee got signed they didn't want him at first and then they he just kept going to their tryouts just kept going to their combines and he was just constantly getting attention and then eventually he got signed
21:38 keyword their bad habits what they perceive to be bad habits but in the rest of the wrestling world those are not frowned upon it's just what WWE chooses to what they perceive to be bad habits
18:36 and sometimes it's not just about being social it's about just being figured in if they like you or if they don't like you for a reasons beyond your control and there's really nothing you can do about it if you're not figured in you're not figured in and don't make it a big point of letting you know
I don't know why they do that what is the point of putting everybody through those blow up drills when the entire business is all about just politicking it's just completely ridiculous its just hazing
Hi Damien, I practice catch wrestling. I notice pro wrestling is what catch wrestling use to be, but people were bored of catch, so a lot of the moves were exaggerated to make it more appealing to the crowd along with injecting storylines. I want to know if you made a video of pro wrestling moves that are practical in catch? I see some of your videos use practical catch moves. Are there videos where you show the pro wrestling version and the catch version differences? I saw a guy show a snap suplex, but in the practical catch way.
The only one that comes to mind is my ‘Crossface Catch Style’ video I put on the RU-vid a few years ago. To be honest I only did a few months of consistent Catch training so my knowledge isn’t overly great. Jiu Jitsu is what I have practiced for years so I do tend to take most of my influence from that when showing Pro Wrestling technique with an added sense of legitimacy.
A lucha ring might not even have the pad. It might have exposed boards that are splintered. We had an old Memphis style ring in our dojo and another one with a bit more steel that traveled with us. Only when doing stunts on television did we get to bump in a ring that was as soft as a cloud. But yes, definitely you build up a resistance to bumps over time if you train correctly. PLEASE TUCK YOUR CHIN AND SPREAD YOUR ARMS TO HELP THE IMPACT DISPERSE THROUGHOUT YOUR BODY AND INTO THE MAT....PHYSICS!
Journeyman wrestler in My mid teens to the age of 30... I'm 36 now.. brain injury... fluid on the brain.. A spring in the ring would be a luxury.. I learned to bump on pissy little gym mats and a crash mat... back bumps and turnbuckle flip bumps hurt every time.. but you just have to land as safely as possible.. hope your opponent will catch you properly... Great video ❤
Oh yeah and never ever let someone gig you with a blade... Kids.... if your training... Get good instructor. Get ring time... Tuck the chin ... Don't cross your feet when running the ropes.
Sir, I'm confused that I want to learn pro wrestling and also MMA so first what should I do?? I'm 19 years old but I'm confused that First what should I start MMA or pro wrestling? Actually I love both
Whatever you want to do! If you want to do both, do both. It just depends on how lofty your goals are. If you want to go all the way, you'd probably need to focus your goals a little more and spend more time with one but otherwise nothing wrong with starting both then streamlining it later. You might find you start to prefer one over the other.
Put your left foot much further forward like next to his head over his right shoulder and push his legs forwards as you cross them, then posture up to lift his lower back. Once you’re locked, you’ll have a better balance and will be able to turn him around with full control whether he wants to or not when you step over with your right leg.
Hiting your abs doesn't work, it's not smart, but...thank you for everything else. I'm from a country where just training this sport, it's a dream, just imagine that. There's only one pro Wrestling company in my country, and luckly it is in my city, thanks for sharing this❤🎉
@@damianslater Compete at snake pit Wigan. They do teach you the rules and what manavers are allowed. Two pro wrestlers competed there before. Kevin Lloyd ( assistant coach at snake pit Wigan) and Heddi Karaoui of France.
Whenever I'm given the popcorn spot (which I never know before hand because a lot of the times I'm added to the card a week before the show), I generally say to myself "I want people to say 'Wait, I missed that?' when they come back to the seats". Always put in something special for the people that are in the crowd.
I have a popcorn match coming up. Just before the main. It’s a fairly big feud match. Big slow face vs small quick heel. We have a unique finish planned that none of the other matches on the card are doing. A ref stoppage finish with the heel over so that we can bring ‘em down and then the main can bring them back up cause it is a triple threat face match for the heavyweight championship. Any thoughts on that?
I think that sort of finish can work well in that spot as ref stoppages often come a little unexpected and potentially anti-climactic so there’ll be a want for closure after it, leading into the main event. The fact that the main event is a 3-way also makes it different enough to what you’re doing so you won’t need to be as careful with stepping on toes.
@@damianslater awesome, thank you! Been loving your coaching videos. Can’t really train over where you are because I’m all the way in Queensland so I’ve been watching and learning as much as I can from your vids. Planning on signing up to the patreon to learn more
Great to hear! I run my Winter Camps every July over here and we always have plenty of attendees from Queensland so maybe something to keep in mind for the future if you’re interested.
@@damianslater for sure will keep that in mind. Seen a bunch of guys from QWA in Townsville go and I’ve been able to work with them. Hopefully one day I’ll be over!

Often it was the match after intermission when fans are still returning to their seats, but yeah it’s also sometimes given to the little filler match before a main event.
Anything that keeps weekends & evenings free I guess. I studied full time and worked weekends for the longest time but had a flexible boss who let me take time off whenever I needed.
