In my mind BART will always be an utter failure, leaving the penisua cities unserved made it well worthless for anyone linving there. I know one hoity toity town, forget who (Atherton?) was up in arms hysterical at the idea of lower class riff-raff traveling through the sanctity of their town on some mass transit system, good heavens the horror! BART kowtowed to the demands of this one small filthy rich little hamlet and here we are 50 years later and the line was never built.
Except if you’re Dublin to BayFair and need to transfer then it’s a 17 minutes wait. Thats not a connection. We need 3-5 minutes connections. And still relying on floppy discs to schedule is going to be problematic
10000% agree with BART going to Redwood City, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, and all the way to Berryessa station. Complete the loop, and watch traffic on our freeways die down.
It is JULY 7,2024 BART, at most keep it's promise of fast reliable service. The wife and I have been riding Bart since the beginning. Always safe and on time. People complain of delays, this is beyond the control of Bart. Most of the time it will be a medical emergency. Or somebody on the track way, or somebody doing something stupid on a train. This is a problem on all transit systems world wide.
Here bc I took the Bart for the first time today and when my ears kept popping and I felt intuitively afraid when it went dark in the tunnel I needed to know why and this video is what I found. 😭
All of these cars are now gone. Only 8 now exist, only 3 are on their truck sets... none of which will ever operate again. They probably won't operate their auxiliary systems like HVAC and lighting either. The dream is over after 51 years of service. It's unbelievable how merciless the decommissioning has been. BART scrapped them all... most of their aluminium was sent overseas... no through about keeping it stateside... or selling any of the metal for special uses. BARTs actions in the 2020s won't age well.
OMG just stop it with this goofy stuff and put more cops on the trains. No one will ever use these. Be serious. Actual people are actually suffering harassment on your trains. Do something that actually works to help us!
