3 of the top 5 tennis pros on the ATP tour had to withdraw from major tournaments due to injury. Tennis is a non-contact sport. This is an issue that must be addressed.
Yoga if learned and practiced properly (not the typical westernized studio yoga) is an excellent practice for aligning the system. Muscle stretching is not a good idea though. I don’t see any animals or infants stretching muscles. Many of the yoga postures however resemble child and animal poses and are even named after them sometimes (child pose, down dog, cat stretch, etc). Stretching muscles leads to problems. Think of stretching the body into geometrically sound positions, not stretching muscles. If you stretch muscles without attention to holistic geometry of the system you will cause injuries. Yoga poses are all about the geometry of the whole body.
Yes it’s less health today than yesterday for that matter. But I believe people who are self driven and responsible can make meaningful changes to impact their own health and lives, and help others do the same. Help spread the message and be the best example you can of what is healthy. 🙏🏽
I want to believe what he is saying but no proof or references just baseless claims. How does sitting on the floor help? What should the athletes do in your opinion then? no examples. Actually interesting topic but bro keeps it very surface level in this.
The proof and the examples are literally everywhere in nature, the problem is you can’t see it because you’ve been conditioned to need “references” from some imaginary authority. If you want proof, learn basic physics, geometry, and math and apply it to human movement. Or simply observe what happens all throughout nature with open eyes. I mentioned in the video some things the athletes should do. Eliminate chairs from their life which will eliminate one major source of problem, and learn how to decompress the system as a whole and build integrity and efficient coordination rather than “stretch and strengthen muscles” which will allow the body to manage energy more efficiently. That really sums it up.
@@athleticengineMake a video on how physics geometry and math justify sitting on the ground then please!!!!! Having proof is how hypothises become fact. You are telling people to sit on the floor without telling people why they should. When you try to you use justifications they make no sense and you act like you are one some high ground to everyone else. I want to believe you but you are telling people to do something and your reasoning is it is the way the world works.
Hello, in my opinion there are multiple factor : - tennis evolve into a « power » sport unstead of a « touch » sport like before, so the athlete need to be more physicall - people are less healthy than before - the equipment is WAY less confortable than before. When you compare old racket (like POG 107) and modern racket (like Pure Drive), you don’t have a big difference in term of playability but you have an enormous difference in term of confort. And of course, monofilament string didn’t help And of course you can have your point into the mix !
Good information especially with the stick. I live in So. East Asia, there is no animal control. The street dogs for the most part are harmless,. I carry dog treats to offer, but I also have a walking stick. Thanks for the information.
The injury rates in young professional players who are at or approaching the peak of their career is alarming to say the least. This amount of injury and wear and tear is not normal. Let us know if you have a question - this is all about bodies not managing energy efficiently. #tennis
Just stumbled across this and since I was out walking yesterday and dogs started barking and defending their garden, were called back so nothing bad happened. I thought this was so useful. you did a great job at demonstrating. Thanks
Austin fTx and nationally the animal shelters are too full post pandemic and our strays are not being picked up by animal control. There have ben bites. Our shelter was made Low Kill 20 yrs ago or more. Their vets heal what they can. Our City council step up and get portable buildings to house cats to make room for dogs. And expand the shelter and servic1es as our population continuously grows. Wood staffs online about $20. Metal hiking poles $10-20. Director is threatening euthenasia. Walmart & online has $10 pepper gel spray canisters w velcro wrist loop. There is a dog spray safe for eyes but idk the name. We have a real health crisis. Thanks. Im sharing this on NEXT DOOR and our neighborhood association Facebook page too. Thanks for lessons.
Lets be honest now if a dog charges at you you arent gonna live trying to block his attacks you gotta bring that leg back like your about to score a game winning goal
Some good tips. In the assessment phase I would try to determine relative weight, if the attack is solo/pack, trained/untrained, and possible attack motive to shape my response. I recommend using natural advantages that humans have but dogs do not. SUPERIOR BRAIN or out think a dog. For example, a dog cannot open a door, turn devices on/off, react well to simple diversions. ABILITY TO HOLD OBJECTS IN HANDS. For example, improvised weapons, intervening objects, distracting items, shielding/armor items. RANGED OR TECHNOLOGICAL ATTACK. Throw (or kick) objects, throw irritants, throw distractions, make noise, make flame, use available speed enhancers gravity, water, frictionless surfaces.
Tried to edit my comment, i said about 1 dog , was 2 how to protect your own pet from an attack from 2 dogs and yourself ? Was my real question? Sorry, thankyou!
You’re right about multiple dogs! Attacking! That lady in Sydney australia, Irish wolf hounds! After her Jack Russel pet! I cannot imagine that lady’s trauma! Yet she protected her little dog! That’s love and guts! I cannot imagine, how that day of events went on! Im glad it was a great outcome! Im on my guard all the time! Your video has helped me greatly! Thankyou!
in my experience, your posture and body language do make a huge difference to dogs especially, there's a huge unchained dog that sits out on the side of the road next to where I used to live, and I'd walk by it every day and give it a pet, meanwhile my brother would nervously run on the other side to avoid it, and ended up getting chased and having is sweater torn up by it.
Have had my nose in dog books since I was 5, lets just say a long time ago. I also have owned many dogs over that lifetime. Still have and love dogs. However as a group dog owners are some of the dumbest don't care about anyone ignorant people I have ever met. Our local rec area has a leash law. I can't tell you how many people knowing this still let their dogs off and will tell you too bad I like them off leash. Example at the boat launch watch a couple with their small kid playing in the water with Rotti off leash. Dog rushed up to guy launching kayak growling and barking in his face, within about 2 inches. Little kid says something to mom who replies oh dozer would never bite. I said flat out you should leash it and it better not do that to us. They ignored me and kept right on. Lucky it didn't do the same to us . This is not isolated guy grabs off leash Australian cattle dog as I mountain bike. Kid said oh he like to chase and nip bikers. Would have like to tell him then his dog would be hurtin as well as his dog but the kid was small so I let it go. In short I used to be that guy until my off leash dog on a trail I never saw people on scared the hell out of a family. Guy looked like he wanted to punch me and I couldn't blame him. I never let them off leash since. I also now carry bear mace and a large knife while biking there. Hope I don't have to use them but first off leash dog that rushes me aggressively or bites the dog and owner will pay the price. Too bad cops, rangers, env. police don't see to want to actually enforce the law oh Massachusetts what can you do.
Im a mother of 6 year old. I feel so scared of stray dogs in my street. I live in india. So many accidents but our gov is not helping us out. I am thinking of buying a retractable défense stick in my hand bag to protect myself and my child. Will that stick keep the dog away who wants to harm us. Can pepper spray and retractable défense dog stick help to keep stray dogs away if wants to attack us ? I haven’t been attacked by dogs but just outside my house minimum 10 dogs are stray dogs roam around. Please let me know thanks
Ain’t no old person gonna be able to jump up on that staircase . Smh , running is never best from and animal. It’s just gonna chase whatever whenever it’s after ..
Very good vid! ❓I HAVE A QUESTION: *Can an expert plz tell me?: **_Is it true that pulling a dog's legs apart can disable it?_* <An expert once told me in a last ditch emergency, e.g. if dog is latched on and won't let go of an arm, you can trap one leg and then pull the other one in the opposite direction. Most likely the 1st trap would have to be done by stepping on it's leg, then use your other arm to pull apart - the idea is to spread it's pectoral muscles/rib cage apart. - - Of course, this is for very specific scenarios and already after all of this ^ stuff in the video has failed or you failed.. It's more in a grappling situation, i.e. the dog already has you... and you cannot practice it! Coz it would hurt the dog>
Pxixcxkxixnxg up 2-3 sxtxoxnxexs usually discourages the dxoxg. The problem is when there are 5 or more of them. They are smart and encircle you, and the one you don't look at, bxixtxexs you from behind.
