Books & Books is your locally-owned, independently-minded neighborhood bookshop in Miami. Miami Beach native Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982. With bookshops in Coral Gables, Bal Harbour, Key West, Pinecrest and the Miami airport, our readers know that we are more than a bookstore.

Books & Books is a community gathering place where books literally jump off the shelves. They come to life through the authors that speak. They inspire conversations over glasses of wine. They bring neighbors together at dinner. They connect people through reading groups. They stimulate the consideration of ideas that haven’t been explored before. They ask communities to read together, discuss together, and think together.

At Books & Books, we are glad to be the place that curates these experiences for you, our customers.

I was hoping someone would ask why he narrated his own books...because he's not a good narrator. Didn't anyone tell him? Am I crazy? Is he surrounded by Hemingway-adjacent toadies?

He keeps saying that it's the system "we've" created... I'm wondering, does he have a mouse in his pocket? What "we" is he referring to? I wasn't involved in any decision making, and neither were most of you. He should identify correctly that it is a system created by criminals in government. Basically just government, more specifically the US Gov.

Let me start off with this, I am a little older than this guy, within 2 years. I also was living in Miami on August 26th 1992. My wife, who is currently a librarian (which is how she stumbled upon this book) was living on the opposite side of the country at the time the first third of this book takes place. For those who do not know, this guy says he grew up middle class when he was in Miami, in Biscayne Bay specifically. That area of Miami is NOT middle class, in fact it would be a stretch to say it is upper middle class. For those who lived there at the time, August 26th 1992 is a day that is burned into the memories of everyone that was living there at the time. In this book, he stated he moved from his home in Biscayne Bay to his grandfather's home in some undisclosed part of the city and hunkered down for Andrew. He then described the eye of the storm going over him. Which is fine. But then then biggest load of BS was laid out. His parents immediately, on the next day, took him to Miami International to fly out. Now, I find it incredibly offensive to say you went through the trauma Andrew caused to the people in this part of the city, when you didn't. I know this because if you truly were as you say, in the part of the city where the eye hit, everyone that was there knows, you were not going anywhere, any time soon. First off, the airport was shut down, and was so, long after the storm passed. Second, the area where he says he was, you were not allowed to be seen outside, either walking or driving around, because the national guard would have arrested you. Martial law was declared on that part of the city, that is how bad this storm leveled south Miami, in fact, my father who was a utility worker, did not even recognize the part of the city he grew up in. At that time he lived there for 24 of the 30 years of his life. He literally got lost, that is how unrecognizable it was to him. And even with him being a utility worker, in a marked vehicle, the national guard still gave him a ton of grief. So you, sir, are lying. The section after this my wife, who lived much further north than I did, drove for hours to attend Gatherings all the time. And she found all kinds of holes in this story, so much so she couldn't finish the book. To add even more insult to injury, we live in Detroit now. And we showed this to people we know, this part of the book, all of them had the same reaction. Laughter followed by, that s**t did not happen. So I guess, if you are looking for some fiction posing as non-fiction... Buy this. Otherwise, this belongs in a trash bin.

I would have liked to ask Amis why he peppered “The Zone of Interest” with so many German words, phrases & whole paragraphs with no translation. Sometimes I could figure out at least approximately what they meant, based on the context, but more often I just read past the German. I guess I could have googled the German, but that would take a lot of time.

Almost three years since u ladies did this and only 512 views! This information should be screamed out like cancer is and other diseases that are accepted and prevalent but it’s not. I’m just now starting my journey with Lyme disease which is babesia and different strains of Borrelia. Nobody knows ANYTHING about it. The journey we are now on started by chance or actually divine intervention and we will be bankrupt at the end of this journey BUT hopefully we will all be able to get the treatments and be well. These diseases are awful and our lives will never be the same and wish we could get with the right people to help us and others suffering. Thanks for writing these books it is a start to maybe get awareness out only if people could hear more about these horrible life altering diseases more frequently so that things can start rolling along but I really don’t think it will happen with the cover ups that exist so it’s very daunting think about the future of chronic Lyme.

Thank you! I just received your book today. My youngest brother (53) was just diagnosed with low volume metastatic prostate cancer (1-2 ileac chain lymph nodes and 2 bony mets (hip and rib) 1-2 months ago. I will be giving him your book. He is being treated at Dana Farber with Lupron, Abiratarone/Prednisone then radiation. Two oncologists have said the same thing as far as prognosis, “6-8 years with treatment”. I can’t accept that and feel as though it’s wrong to put a time stamp on one’s life. Our mother survived beyond doctor’s expectations with her bouts of cancer starting at age 40. She lived to be 82. I am only on page 9 of your book and can see you feel the same way about statistics. I’m a breast cancer survivor myself since 2014. Thank you for writing this book, I know it will be very helpful for him as he hasn’t encountered anyone yet who has walked the walk 🙏🏻⛳️

@@tom-kz9pb Alright I'll bite - what makes you think Nixon was complicit in the JFK killing? Seems to me that some of the characters and factions that could reasonably be suspected to have done JFK overlapped with the crowd that would go on to (politically) assassinate Nixon.
