@@jackwoods593 Haha mate I own a FTE cruiser not this useless boat anchor of a V8 that everyone now realises is complete shit. They need to be twin locked to make it out of a wollies car park over the speed humps
@@jackwoods593 But enjoy being sore about the reality of the V8, deep down you know you are try to justify spending so much money on one 😂 in about 5 years you’ll look back and think “how stupid was I to waste all that time, money, energy and breath on that piece of shit that needs a rear wheel track correction from the get go” 😂
@@MR-hu1bx got one been everywhere where from the beach to hard stuff never had a problem and shes stock as a rock just gotta know how to wheel it rear diff don’t even matter just sent it
Spot on,had a Disco 4 for 10yrs,now have had a LC200 for almost 4 yrs, both had a split tailgate, which we love.Bigger fuel tank, more room, middle row of seats moves, split sun visor, the 200 will be with us for a while. The 200 is also a proven package, there is not much to complain about. In our opinion,it is a better vehicle for what we need than the 300.The only real advantage of the 300 is more power, but a good tune of the 200 will sort that out.Fuel burn, difference is negligable,i think Toyota quote around 6%.
Got both, 200 is just as soft as the 300, hardly a difference in interior size, like the 300 rear door better no tailgate to lean over when loading, im 6ft dont hit head unless standing on verge, can stand under in rain dont get wet, no engine problems 70k klms goes like stink, much of a muchness boys, if you want extra duty off road buy a 70. Happy to have the 300 in my collection.
I am helping a friend install an Ironman winch to his 2019 Hilux Rugged X, Installing it on the standard Rugged X bumper using the Toyota winch bracket. While I have mounted it with the winch gearbox on the passenger side with the cable feeding in under the drum (as per instructions) I have noticed that the cable fouls on the Winch mounting bracket. While your vehicle is the model "Rouge" and you are using a different brand winch. I notice you have flipped yours around so that the gearbox is on the drivers side and the cable comes out over the top of the drum. Did you do this to avoid a similar issue that I have encountered? While the instructions that came with the Toyota bar are not perfect, they are a lot more detailed than the instructions that came with the winch. They do state to put the gearbox on the passenger side and that the cable will feed out from underneath, (I know you can't just wind the cable on in reverse as the clutch in the winch will no longer work correctly.) I have seen and used many Warn winches fitted to Hilux, Mazda BT-50's, Ford Rangers & Nissan Patrols, in all cases the gearbox is always on the drivers side and the cable feeding out from under the drum. (These vehicles were all fitted with Bullbars, mainly ARB brand) Are these Hilux Rougue's & Rugged X's different with their steel bumpers and without the bullbar loops?
Sounds like you're deep in the winch installation trenches! Every vehicle and winch setup can have its quirks. Given the issues you’re facing, it might be best to consult a professional.
V8 with auto or manual should have been an option, sadly since it might be hard to even get a new v8 with manual guess have to go witb the 4 banger or even a 3.3 litre v6 with 10 speed auto wouldn't be a problem if toyota offered with this motor
I'm finding the engine (stock) is better in every way. More power, torque, smoother, tows better, and the gearbox holds gears under load! Couldn't get this from my previous 200. All I'm hearing from performance upgrade mechanics is that its a better and stronger engine with a much higher breaking point and therefore scope to get higher performance. Lets face it - the V8 is 16 year old technology. The engine should not be a point of contention - unless you just love a V8 for sentimental reasons. Me I prefer a better power plant.
It's hard to argue with more power, torque, and smoother towing. Nostalgia for the V8 is strong, but it’s great to see the new tech delivering where it counts.
Toyota has the world bluffed. The sooner people realise that there are other cars out there that are just as good, then maybe they'll stop price gouging. Only fanatic and financial fools buy LandCruiser.
Ive been in the business of 4wd training for over 30 years and have had the pleasure of owning from FJ55 to current LC wagons. My 2010 VX 200 did over 450km and it is still going strong with a mate who bought it. The 300 is another level above the 200, not only comfort but also capability. Yes there are things about the 200 i miss, Split tailgate, KDSS and the sound of the V8. My 200 goes like a cut cat and leaves my tuned 200 for dead. I have the pleasure of driving all types of vehicle in my business of 18yrs and as an instructor in any brands, i still love my 300.
There’s nothing quite like the roar of a V8 to make you feel alive. But hey, if your 300's leaving your tuned 200 in the dust, it sounds like it’s earned its stripes.
Hi, just wondering what size rims and tyres are? Do you know what the rim offset is? Is it still “legally compliant” with those rims regrding axle weights etc?
When i first got the 300 i thought it felt like a soccer mum car and for the price i wanted more luxury like a full digital dash atleast. After dropping another 40k in mods it is a beast now, i look down on the 200 series when i see them now, no comparison
It’s a small to medium suv it rms calls it large to get more tax and rego from people and same goes for other small Utes like ranger, hilux and ranger raptor as rest are even smaller than them 3. All Japanese but Thai built are very cramped cab and bed for a Ute
Yeah kinda interesting I own brand new 79 and a 105 and both have the coldest a/c out of any vehicle iv own. The 79 is actually to cold. If you’re doing long trips. So yeah I guess another so called mod just to make our 79s now $300k we so called need to spend before we tour in them 😮😅
It seems Toyota specs out its 70 series with the best interior for the Dubai market, while everyone else gets the lower/standard trims...Very descriminating from Toyota...
After having a 200 , sold it after 2 years due to steering issues ,Toyota was no help at all ,first car I have ever sold for 10 k more than I paid for it. now have a 300 , steers great , but ,same size outside as 200 , but only half the size inside , almost no rear leg room , rear seats will not fold forward unless you move the front seats forward first Unable to see out of the rear view mirror due to the second roe middle seat head rest completely blocking the view.have removed mine .keep it in the back for when needed , 3,rd roe seats are rubbish , tail gate and small fuel tanks a big step backwards, v6 is a lot noisier than the v8, v6 has good power above 2500 rpm but lacks power at low revs , very sluggish off the mark when towing even a small camper trailer Apart from better steering , big step backwards All in all you are correct in that it is just a over priced Prado with a long nose and a extra 2 cylinder added up front.
Same unfortunately they replaced like a rubber thingy and they told me its going to be better the sound is less noticeable but still same vibrations from time to time and plenty of interior sounds from steering and everywhere. They are not built for rugged use anymore that what I thought after 74k of use
I see a big change of opinion in your future as you spend more time in a 300 series. I’ve got both a 200 and a 300 and the 300 is leaps and bounds a better vehicle.
I heard of one guys turbo falling off and Toyota asking he if he’d been 4wd’ing it,that’s what it is isn’t it,this landcruiser doesn’t drive me home,as the advertisement says, hahaha
