The NBA has invested heavily in the development of basketball outside of the U.S. since the 90s. Because of that we have many foreign born players in the NBA. No, they are not the best defenders in the NBA nor all time best defenders. I came name some of my favorite Euro players and they were not world beaters on D. Sabonis, Peja, Dirk, Luka. Mutombo, went to Georgetown and Embiid went to Kansas. So Gil has a point
