Daemon Targaryen got ruined in season 2 because he did nothing and lacked agency, everything from his scummy behaviour (censored in season 1) and decency got toned down - all the way to being none existent; he became boring and no longer that wildcard you could always bank on to make the plot more interesting. BTW you surprise me as a Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire fan if you think this is a series about heroes and villains, generally, the majority of the characters are "bad guys" if placed into any other traditional stories or judged by modern-day morality.

(thanks to oscar tully) Daemon to me wasnt boring this season because the show runners had to follow the timeline of the books n added the ghosts to make daemon harrenhall ark just remotely interesting. Daemon in the books throughout the early stages in the dance only took harrenhall and waited to build up his forces then he took king landing. I never said the story is about heroes and villains. In other videos of mine i complain about how the direction of house of the dragon is being ruined by the writers by making the green cartoonish villains and making the blacks seem like better people. Most of the characters are bad or grey characters. I made this video to really call out people blind devotion to daemon when he clearly is no different then otto and he is overrated as a character in many aspects.
@@jjosifovic btw why are you surprised that there is blind devotion to Daemon? If you watched Breaking Bad you'd see that the majority of the fanbase forgets that Walter White is the big bad villain of the series since folks empathise with him through his journey so they make excuses for all the "questionable" decisions he makes especially during the final seasons. I've read Fire and Blood, I remember that story beat but still I was disappointed since Daemon's is supposed to be a wildcard whether he succeeds or fails in any of his endeavours. I agree with you about the amateurish writing from Condal and Hess, they don't know how to write grimdark stories. I'd add that most of the characters don't have agency either black or green (such a stupid dichotomy IMHO), for example in GOT the Lannisters where on the same "team" but Tyrion, Tywin, Jaimie, Cersie... all had their own agendas and existed as individuals; allies still but heads and don't even think the same way. In the Condal & Hess verse, the story is shoehorned around Alicent and Rhaenyra, both of whom have become more boring.
@@j0hnc00 To me most people r idiots n just fall in line with every character that is portrayed as their protagonist and they never judge their characters the same way as they do their "villains." Its just annoys me more than being surprised about it. In the future i will be making a series of videos fixing season 2 n doing it episode by episode with 3 changes minimum to each episode. This show was amazing.. Unreal that this got cancelled.. You could not have said it any better, sir.. So much useless shit stays on tv for years, but yet, great shows like this get cancelled after one season..
I liked it , I didn't get to finish it but I hope to sometime, SOA was inspired by Shakespeare and Mayans by Hamlet so I love that tragic recurring influence, I enjoyed it I got to the end of season 3 , I do feel that it's watered down it doesn't have the edge and darker aspects that made Sons unpredictable at times because FX has kinda became more censored when it comes to on screen violence although they added more bad language to their programming but yeah FX started to feel very tame and watered down around the time AHS Hotel finished, I will need to find a way to finish Mayans off

I disagree. Alicent is the most selfish and evil of them all. She raised her children with the mindset to hate Rhaenera and she groomed Aemond to go and be a complete psycho. Also fucked the King in order to put her family in a high place in the kingdom, and made up the whole story about Aegon being elevated by his father. She started all of this. The other evils were just vulturing around.

Not OTTO who forced her into the position and started the rift, not RHAENYRA who constantly didnt care about the rules and created a SUCCESSION CRISIS by having bastards which is high treason that ENDANGERS alicent kids lives as well. Not king v who changed the succession laws by naming a girl heir knowing that this was a kingdom that rejected a female heir like 15 years years ago. NOT King V who didnt trained rhanyra, who decided to remarry, who ignored all his children and favored one, who never disciplined rhaenyra, who rehired otto, who didnt disinherit rhaenyra after 3 bastards, who still had rhaenyra as HEIR AFTER SHE MARRIED THE MAN WHO WAS DEOUNCED AS HEIR IN THE FIRST PLACE? the thong is though alicent and cole was hinted for a long time and it makes sense y those two characters r together howeber there was no hint of white worm and rhaenyra.
The Dance would happen even if Rhaenyra was made queen, no way Valyrian weeabos like Daemon and Aemond would let Jace take the throne, both of them would definitely back Aegon III and would 100% start a war to kill off Jace, Luke and Joffery.
Awesome review man I love Tarzan too. Brilliant pacing, wonderful animation, terrific soundtrack and pure heartfelt emotion. A real story about Tarzan’s identity. It’s a classic Clayton’s death is surprisingly dark.

i think writers are confused about the story in episode 3 Rhaneyra said she wants win the war with the army and didn't want to use the Dragons But out of nowhere she changed her mind now she wants to use the Dragons

i dont know i kind of like it, specially her tourneys mention, after all theses two women want less people to die and suffer, I don't think they would forgive each other for their mistakes but they are willing to put this aside for peace unlike the men around them
i dont mind the scene if it happened in season 3 after certain events have taken place but to me its so unrealistic that these two women are so civil to one another after alicent grandson was beheaded and after rhaenyra was nearly assassinated......
I know alot of people are debating whether or not someone has to be team Black or Green but i dont have a sode realky because much like in Game Of Thrones there were good and bads on both sides, its a franchise of characters that have ambitions that they want to achieve and aome of them are more cruel when it comes to achiving them, sure there are characters that had good intentions but still their own motivations still be something to do wirh power, it's a franchise with tons of conplex characters which are usually the main leaders, there are a few characters you could class as pure evil like the Mountain

@@jjosifovic sorry about that I had two taps open I mean to post it in the video about which side Green or Black video you did , I must have gotten the taps mixed up, I haven't started season 2 yet, I would still be down to talk about TV shows and characters , another thing about how we judge characters are we also typically side with the protagonists that we are following in the story like if you watch Vikings from the English Essex perspective Ragnar and his clan are a bunch of savages that landed on their grounds and started raiding churches , for Ragnar and his clan that's just how they survive and keep their people fed by raiding other places to make new settlements among other things , I enjoy watching medieval TV series because they are usually filled with complex dynamics between characters and you can rewatch it and try to look at each sides perspective
@@jackeydeeman3081 Vikings was a great show but in no way did i see them as the good guys when the characters were killed off i was sad they were gone but i didnt act like the person who killed them were in the wrong either. Same thing happen with me when I watched the Originals n Vampire diaries i greatly enjoyed the characters and didnt want them to die but i didnt hate any of the characters that went against them (mostly the human ones)
@@jjosifovic yeah I understand where you are coming from, I watched Vampire Diaries and Originals and yeah the Salvatore's and the Mikealsons left a lot of innocent bodies and broken families along the way, I was actually a team Marcel guy during season 3 and 4 but i also understand that Marcel has probably done some bad things as well like the way he treated some of the witches in season 1
@@jackeydeeman3081 exactly when i was watching how people r reacting to the show n how they really couldnt get their minds to conclude that their protagonist are the bad guys n they deserved to be stopped. In this show im more team green for many reason but 1 reason is because the writers for one r very biased and try to make one side seem more evil than the other n one of the main protagonist is a person who gaslights the entire kingdom. Another thing is that a lot of people dont understand medieval culture or society n their views r more modern. N since the main character acts like a modern person then u will get the modern audiences support.
No maester was in the room recording shit so this drives home the banality of evil. The book version was nothing cartoonish sadism. Brutality for the sake of it. This was more practical and straightforward. What they wanted was a d&d style heavy handed shock value bloodlust & gore to score sympathy points for your sports team...instead got an actual bleak, mellow, creeping horror tragedy. Which is what I always wanted from asoiaf. The more purists cope, the more I know it was good.
I just wished certain events stay true like have blood n cheese kill guards n have aegon second son exist because I don’t think the show has clarified if aegon has a second son or not
