I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

@@ChristopherAnthony-9 The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

I genuinely like your use of upbeat music to cover up the blight affecting the real estate there. I was also hoping you'd make a case for moving into the area as opposed to neighboring towns. Sadly, those shots of the downtown make Slidell look like Las Vegas.

If your from California don’t move here, almost everybody down here thinks people in California are democrats and satanic ( as quoted from half of Gonzales Louisiana) plus don’t move to Baton Rouge or you most likely will end up in the hospital with gun shot wounds or stab wounds. Almost every night someone gets killed in north baton rouge

Young families with children consider schools first. Both cities have poor public schools, and both have good to excellent private and parochial schools. Both cities have suburbs with better public schools. St. George, an unincorporated part of East Baton Rouge Parish, established itself to break away from the Baton Rouge schools and establish its own public school system.

What about crime and education? I have seen the crime stats on Hammond, and they are not good (crime rate is 75 per 1000 with a good portion of that being violent crime). If you really are real estate ppl pushing for ppl to move there, you have to understand what is important to ppl with children. And an unsafe city with poor education is not going to be attractive to them.

Lol, I'm in Louisiana and sweetheart, the weather is disgusting in the summer. It's already terribly hot and humid & summer hasn't even officially begun. We do have Hurricane parties, cause there's nothing else to do, being stuck inside 🥳 🎉 lol😂 if the winds get strong enough, trees are uprooted that you'd never think would be uprooted! It can get super, super scary & it floods at times. Bad. 😨 but... did you know that hurricanes spawn tornadoes 🌪 around the eye of the storm and the East Side of the storm? Yep. 😢 So, if Texas gets hit, we get the worst of the storm... Also, there's one season year around... humid, humid, humid and more humid. 😂 Unfortunately, Louisiana also holds, I think the 4 out of 10 most dangerous cities to live in (I may be off with the numbers), but be careful where you settle. Be prepared to gain weight too. There's not as much outdoor physical activities here but we do have some beautiful scenery & lot's of FANTASTIC food, bars & venues for the home of Jazz, Voodoo & the besssst food in the world in New Orleans (Nawlins). New Orleans is below sea level, so I def wouldn't move there. Idk if you saw the documentary on when Hurricane Katrina hit N.O. almost head on and oh, it was horrible... but it is soooo much fun to visit! There are lots of state parks in La., which are pretty neat because some have boardwalks that lead smack dab in the middle of the swamp, where you might see a gator or two. That is, if it's not too hot or if a storm doesn't come along and destroy them, to be slowly rebuilt for yrs. Yeah, Louisiana is like no other state, in any way! Annnnd New Orleans in itself, is like a whole other World 🎉😂 they almost have, like a New York/New Jersey accent in the heart of N.O., then when you scootch just outside of N.O., over the Causeway and such, CAJUN COUNTRY and Cajun French accents so heavy that you can't understand what they're saying. Lol. Then, coming from BTR (more inland), they have hardly any accent at all. It's crazy 🤪 Oh and dare I forget Mardi Gras all over the state! Quite the experience, esp. in New Orleans! You'll probably see more than you bargained for and I guarantee you, you've never been to a parade, until you've been to a parade in Louisiana. "THROW ME SOMETHING MISTA" All over... during the season (Feb/Mar) hehehe 😊
