I'm a metal Detectorist from Totnes in Devon, UK I started my channel as a push to get out more and to engage with the community of metal detecting and finds. I have always loved history and found metal detecting to be a passion of mine on RU-vid so thought I would throw my own hat into the arena 'so to speak'
Please subscribe if you like my content, I will try to upload weekly, if not more frequently!
I moved from the equinox 800 to the xp deus 2 and it's been fantastic. After the initial problem of charging 3 different items and connecting them wirelessly I haven't looked back.
That lush green landscape looks epic in the rain and the mist. £10 a month with 27,000 subscribers is absolutely shocking. I don't have anywhere near that amount of subscribers but am receiving 20 times that amount of revenue per month... Huge subscriber count, low views not a good combo I guess
Nope, it's a real shame!! Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon that people want to subscribe and like my content. But in all honesty, I'd love to build a little family that talk all things detecting together, that watch each video eagerly. I have a good handful that do and I love them for it, but the rest is just a number currently and that's a real shame 🫠 Glad to hear you are doing so well though pal!! That certainly gives me some hope of the future 😃 What would you say, was your best method to get the conversation going?
@@bigfootfinding7019 I've no idea about that, although I sometimes mention a food, beer or movie etc and ask what my viewers favourite something is. Comments and conversations won't make you any money though, its all about the views. Generally 1,000 views will earn you about £5
@TheDukesOfDerbyshire thanks pal! I understand that, some videos do amazingly, others a lot less so. I just know that if I feel a part of a community, I want to show my support and watch more videos!
Just a thought, but maybe if you sub to some channels and regularly comment on their videos you might do a bit better. It's all about supporting each other 👍👍@@bigfootfinding7019
Wait till you put in the hrs and really master this machine. I continuously keep pulling out some pretty epic fines in some very beat up spots in my area. Good luck get on with it
I mean, all fields were used for millenia around here. Even if uninhabited, they were likely traversed by the Saxons, Romans etc. As for this site, these fields as well as our garden surround the old corn water mill which dates back to the 1300s/1400s
@@bigfootfinding7019 Wow, you're so fortunate to live somewhere that treasure is almost certainly near. Open fields near me yield literally absolutely nothing. Not even junk like bottle caps/nuts/bolts/foil etc. Just nothing...
@2000jago Oh that's horrid! Don't get me wrong, I've had days of digging nothing but moo tubes and am overjoyed by the amazing place I am, but there has to be history out there! Somewhere! If you ever come uk bound, hit me up and I'll get you out 😊
I got a deus11 nice and light for us old folks in our 60.i have found a nice but small 22kt ring on a Cornwall beach using beach p..from sunny Cornwall uk 0😊
Very nice unit! At 1399 GBP before postage/tax it's well out of the range of my budget though even with the BIGFOOTFINDING discount. Will have to find a few gold coins with the X10 before I can afford the upgrade. 🤣
Haha! Don't worry, I completely get that. It is very expensive, but felt if I did need to replace the old 800, it might as well be an upgrade. I held off as long as I could haha!
@@bigfootfinding7019 by the time I got my detector and realised that the place I thought in wales is a see turned out to be a big river 🤦🏻♂️🤣 and by the time I drove to beach near Bristol it was dark, I still went to the beach to figure the machine out but I was on top of loads of rocks and probably a electrical cable 🤣 The detector was screaming like max even after all the noise cancellation and grounding. But today Uk one going to a Sandy beach. And I know how to set it up, and should be a hour or two of light for me. Next week I’m off so I’ll probably make some videos too haha
An ever so slight rattle but nothing of merit. Just go steady with large metal and roots as mine eventually bent! Although saying that, it's still my back up and still very strong!
Great video matey , just brought the X terra Elite Expedition pack , after leaving the hobby 4 years ago , I’m very impressed with it and looking forward to the fields again .. Ps: I love the loud thud as you put ye spade into the earth like a proper giant 😂
I had the original x10 (non pro) i still think its one lf the best coin hunters ive used just got the new generation x10 idmaxx its very similar but the reaction speed doesn’t seem as snappy also its a noisy machine the first time i used it i found a 1876 canadian large cent and from what i understand there hard to find even in canada
@@bigfootfinding7019 they are for sure a hidden gem here in the us dont understand why they havent caught on and while most seem to be fighting over whats the next best thing ime using this underrated brand and finding older stuff then i have before
100% I can't fathom it at all!! Even if it was a late shoddy, a Kent Police uniform seems a far stretch! We did have a fair amount of Devon and other regiment buttons in the garden, so it could have been that wwi maneuvers were in the area somewhere?
Blimey Bigfoot I’ve just noticed you’ve gained another 5000 subscribers or something …please tell me you are buying them or the rest of us are all doing something seriously wrong however hard we try
I put a small ad on the X terra video as it was given to me by a company and thought I'd give back to them somewhat, but that was all! I haven't bought any subscribers, as far as I'm aware you can't do that??
@@bigfootfinding7019 I dont either it’s just odd only 350 or so of your 20,000 subscribers have watched this video..! They aren’t very loyal you should give them a rocket!
@HolzHammerSagas I know, it is very frustrating at times! I don't know if they are waiting for a specific type of video or what, but I'd love if if they'd converse and watch more!! I love chatting to subscribers and I'd love for that to happen more and more, a community is the ultimate goal, not just the figure of subscribers!
Sorry to interject brethren but does the answer lie with RU-vid's adulterations? I'm struggling to get mine up (excuse the expression) but viewers I've met tell me the content isn't dire so I am at a loss. At least I record the finds for posterity though. Keeps me going on
Of course the 15inch on the Nox will go deeper than the 12 on the Elite you'll just lose a little pinpointing accuracy. Was there an option to select single frequency on the Elite if so were you in multi? Nice work, and happy hunting, Dave
Oh most definitely! I think the options were 10htz, 20htz and multi? I went through them on the test, but can't recall off hand. Yes I was using multi buddy!
@@bigfootfinding7019 I believe the Nox has 5, 10, 15, 20 and 40 khz which I presume are selectable (which on my Vanquish is the same but not individually selectable). I believe but stand to be corrected the stability (via ground balance corrections) is better in multi. Everything is a trade off though as in certain situations having the selectability to single frequency could give you that extra half inch
@@bigfootfinding7019 four more or 4khz? 4khz is maybe good if the ground is really mineralised or for fatter coins. Lower frequencies penetrate more but are less sensitive
Thanks for the vid. I do not know what your sweep speed is, but with my Vanquish a slightly slower than user manual recommended sweep speed really brings out the tougher signals. Get yourself a pair of kneepads. 🤣
unfortunately I haven't found any and don't own any gold to test this, but I would imagine similar to foil which is a steady low number ie 10-20 but will vary depending on quality and thickness etc
