Seems the musicians then were instantly recognizable. Even non-musicians among my firends could tell the difference between Clapton, Beck and Hendrix, or Baker and Mitchell. I doubt they could tell Satch from Vai from the rest. Not to disparage their playing, they are aces. But music seems to have suffered. Just an opinion, no offense.
