This looks so silly 😂 tight gear and bullshit bikes. Being stock in one position the whole time. MTB is the real deal 🎉 come to the other side my friends 😈😈😈
When turning left your pedal position should be Left foot at 12 and right foot at 6 o'clock And when going right Left foot 6 and right foot 12 o'clock It makes sure your pedal doesn't hit the ground
What happened Chris? Was a loss of grip? I think there was maybe a wee bit of mud on the corner. By the way, that was me whooping afterwards. Sorry, it sounds terrible after you went down. I was on your wheel and nearly went right over the top of you. I ended up on the grass but kept it upright. The whoop was a nervous reaction to narrowly avoiding hitting you. Hope your not too badly rashed up. Heal soon.
@@chrisoneill3373 yep loss of grip on the front tyre. When I look in slow-mo I can see there is a patch of new tarmac in the corner, front tyre seemed to lose grip at the join when going from new tarmac to old tarmac. Don't know if that was the cause or if I just pushed too hard in the damp conditions. Glad you kept it upright, it's scary when someone hits the deck in front of you. I've taken a lot of skin off my left hand side but no other injuries thankfully!
@@lovemesomedetail Buddy, you also have no clue why he runs 165. Sure it has benefits in terms of cadence and knee angles. But it absolutely does allow you to pedal sooner exiting a corner, and that’s…pretty damn important.
I remember the first day this happened to me. That's the minute I realized why we have the turning side pedal at 12 o'clock. Before that, i was confused on what pedal I was supposed to have at 12.
It happened to me the first ride on my winter bike after riding my fixie (proper track bike with a high bottom bracket) all summer. One minute I was making the turn and the next I was on the floor wondering how I got there. I wasn’t going as fast as these guys mind.
@phishphood423 understood. Crank length is not just dictated by personal preference, though. Leg length is a significant factor, and making suggestions in ignorance of all the data is not insightful or helpful. WvA, for example, is almost the same height as me and happily races on 172.5mm cranks, so the suggestion that everyone should race on shorter (<170?) cranks, regardless, is not a smart one... Pedal strikes happen. When you're used to racing, deciding to pedal through a corner is a calculated risk, and sometimes it results in a strike. No big deal, and it's never caused an off for me...
I mean this genuinely and not being an elitist ass, get a fixie or some other junker bike with thickslick tires and practice skidding. It really helps with how you control your bike in low/no traction scenarios
