I just bought a 2019 S560 and discovered the remote start issue. This is disappointing and kinda defeats the purpose of remote start, not to mention it costs $150/year. Mercedes got me this year, but I will not be renewing this app. Genesis gives me this option for free and the car doesn't shut off when you open the door -- but you can't go anywhere without the key fob unless you have your digital key card (which is another dope feature). Even a Chevy Camaro I rented had a remote start feature where the engine did not shut off, but you had to have the key fob and hit the start button once you entered the vehicle. Mercedes needs to fix this asap!
Mercedes is garbage. Remote start turns off after 10 min, so can’t leave my dog in the car. Traded it for a Tesla that came with a free app that is common sense!
What's the use of the remote start if it shuts down when I reach the vehicle :) ?? The main purpose to strat it remotely is because I wanna save time! It should be fixed like other brands tbh
There are only 3 videos out there on this, what a shame all reviews say that its a pretty reliable Japanese vehicle. Regardless I may be picking one up for well under a grand. Can't pass up a reliable beater SUV to complement my Model S. Went to auto trader and can not find any for sale....weird. Did America get the short end on these things.

I thought Mercedez Benz was a luxury vehicle how could that be when all new cars come with the luxury of remote starter but my 60k 2023 do not they took it off my app after one year and now want me to pay for it if I was made clear of this I would've never brought this vehicle so be careful when you buy Mercedez car it's not worth the price tag😢😡
Actually he talks about range and says it’s connected via Bluetooth .. that’s incorrect it’s connected via internet which allows you to start from anywhere .
Hey man i have tried everything but it seems it doesn’t want to work on my 2014 w166 because it just doesn’t register my key when i hold the button but instead the light keeps flashing until i press it again to cancel. Is the issue with my door opener? Would really appreciate any help thank you
Mercedes definitely dropped the ball with no remote start. Remote start was on the app for a while but it’s been removed and I’m not sure why. Y’all gotta do better. These vehicles cost too much to not have this feature.
why does my defroster defogger front and back not work with remote start even if i shut the car off with them turned on? when i remote start and go in they are not on/.
$150/year??? Just give me a fob to remote start! This is ridiculous and was never explained to me! During the free trial I was once locked out due to the service being down. Mercedes Benz service left me stranded overnight 🤬
Hi, I’m Benz owner also. There’s a few videos on RU-vid to show you how to use the actual key that’s located in your key fob to manually open the door specific to your vehicle. I had to learn this myself and you can use it to lock you glove box, and start you car if your keyfob goes dead. Hope this helps😊
More drawbacks: 1) The engine shuts off when you open the car to get in. 2) With many users, the remote start is unreliable and only works about half of the time. 3) Various parameters must be met for remote start to work (certain min level of fuel, windows and sunroof must be fully closed, doors must be locked, ...).
@@AEMBowers It shuts off on mine and all of them. I call mercedes and I was told it was a fail safe feature as to not get stolen. It does but doesn't make sense for what we want it for smh 🤦
@@AEMBowers And yes, it say on the app about the parameters that have to be meet as to not damage the engine by running out of gas, windows up so no one can get in while its running etc etc 😀
