I dealt with this for five months and it ended up being the ground wire to the jumper post by the firewall. If that little copper ring is dirty or cracked or anything your Chrysler 200 stall and all the lights will come on and off, etc.
For all the comments posted here.a Open, a friend passed by and saw me lying there. Luckily, he had jumper cables with which he gave me power and I turned on the car and got out of the way. I checked the voltage and it was fine.
I’m having the same problem except I think it’s my alternator I believe I’m not getting the right readings on my multi meter I put a new battery in and worked for like 45 minutes and then the battery light came on along with the other way my OBD reader is only reading low voltage. I guess I’m going to replace the alternator which I’m not excited about this car. I’m really hoping that’s it. I drove fine before this. Usually I can see when an alternator is going like on my Honda Or Nissan low headlights etc. idk
My 2013 200 is sitting at a gas station now because the battery light was on and then all the lights came on just before I lost power but was able restart it and slowly make it to the station where I was told it was the alternator. I’m not so sure it is honestly, I believe it’s electrical. I’ve owned Sebring’s in the past and never had issues with them but I’ve had nothing but problems with this 200 ever since I’ve had it.
Is the battery light on? If the battery light is on, it could be the alternator. Otherwise it’s probably the ground wire from the battery to the jumper post it’s probably loose or corroded or something adding some washers to it. I had the same problem for five months.
Goin threw the same thing sometime it will start then it’s no crank but I keep getting brake light on track control light and service engine light and no communication code I’m thinking bad ground
The something happened to my 2017 chysler 200. I took my car up to Kwik Kar and they said they just reset my computer system. Since they rest it I haven't had any problem.
My 2011 V6 has the same darn issue. Put in new alternator and new battery, now the battery light stays on and it drains the new battery. Also, what a crappy place to have the battery. I put new battery terminals on the cables, the old ones were cheap and cracked. The tow truck will be here on Monday to tow it to the dealership. I hope they figure out the issue.
Check the Total Fucked Up Power Module 😂 kidding TIPM Totally Integrated power module mine burnt out. I had a bad engine ground, and ran a dedicated 4gauge ground from alternator mounting bolt to the negative post on shock assembly under hood
I merely described the problem to my Chrysler dealer shop and were so familiar with the symptoms they knew it was a module. They ordered the module before they even looked at the car to diagnose the problem. The speedometer dropped to zero at any speed, the fan shut off or ran wide open, every warning light blinked or stayed on, the odometer went blank, & the radio stopped. They didn’t say which module or where it was located.
@@timothyschrag7391 mine was two for almost 8 months until it friend my TIPM then I ran a really good ground wire straight to strut housing negative post new alternator, new TIPM module really good ground wire from alternator I think it was 0 gauge wire to negative terminal solved my issues
@@ItsHelpMe that’s what happened with me. But there are several recalls. The defective parts were changed and it did get better. Also make sue all the battery and alternator connections are tight. A loose alternator connection my have caused the alternator damage. It got worse in wet weather also and I don’t know what that had to do with it.
@@bigred4974 , it's worth checking. If you have another ride, I'd suggest taking the switch out and taking it to the auto parts store with you to ensure that you get the correct replacement part the first time. I had to make two trips because I was sold the wrong switch the first time. The entire repair took about 15 minutes at the most, so I assume that you could do the repair in the auto store parking lot. Also, my original switch "plunger" was damaged which showed me that it was the cause. Best of Luck!
It’s not the alternator or the starter. I’m having the same issue. Sometimes the car doesn’t start and then days later it does, without me touching it.
I have the same issue it blacks out and I replaced a battery and that wasn’t it .. I definitely think they should reimburse everyone that bought the 200 cause it keeps shutting off
