Glad you enjoyed it. The full version is also on RU-vid. We had so much fun making the film but I still can't work out where we all found the time. No plans at the moment for another film but I've nearly finished the script for a new comedy with a Shakespearean theme for Sark Theatre Group to perform this summer. Watch this space!
Heaven, and how people should live in every aspect, not in the mess we live on across the world led by corrupt useless governments. The world is in one big mess and until normal folk wake the he'll up it'll only get worse. Sark is a beacon of hope and so are it's people.
I remember the tractor waiting for the boat passengers to take them to the top of the island and the wonderful ride in the horse drawn cart. It is not easy to walk on the rough lanes full of pebbles.
Beautiful. I worry though as i wonder how long before the corrupt and rich get their filthy hands on it and ruin it. Its also a worry that two utterly corrupt and massively hypercritical idiots- the barclays brother live next door and are constantly trying to corrupt the island.
@Angus Wilson Yes, I've been to Herm and Alderney and they are lovely. They are only a few miles away. Jethou is very close to Herm but I've never landed on it as it's privately owned. Looks nice from the sea!
Hi what's the deal/ protacal for UK yachts and anchorages and marina fees, we would like to sail over for the folk festival this year or next, Hope you are all keeping well in this troubled times, Stephen
Hi Stephen, we have no marina but do have two lovely bays with mooring buoys for visitors (which are free but a donation towards their upkeep is always welcome) and there are areas for anchoring too. At the moment the island is closed to visitors but we're all really hoping we can open up later this summer, if not we'll look forward to seeing you here next year. Visit the Sark website for more information at www.sark.co.uk
Sark Opera Festival, 2019 stars Mark Llewellyn Evens, Jassy Husk, Yvonne Howard, Christopher Diffey, Victoria Joyce along with Manon Ogwen Parry and Archie Buchanan. Accompanied by Charlie Forrest, piano.
Have to be honest: I hadn't heard much about Sark until I read an article on +BBC News concerning the Islands power crisis this morning...And after seeing this video, my first ever car-free destination has just been added to my "To visit" list! :-) The power crisis is a concerning thing though, as is the cost you get charged for electricity (66p/0,80€ per kWh!). I have a number of ideas in mind for experimental renewables. Could that be of any help? :-) Finally - Odd question: I cycle everywhere as a rule, but I've become so used to the pace of mainland roads that 40km/h is my usual riding speed and I often achieve it without even realising. Does Sark have and apply official speed limits to its trails? Many thanks for the video! :-)
You would be most welcome to visit Sark and share your ideas. I'm not sure you'd want to travel so fast over here on your bicycle though - we don't have speed limits for bikes but we do have some fairly bumpy bits of lane. And you'd want to slow down to enjoy the scenery!
Thank you. Yes, Mervyn Peake lived here for a while and wrote Gormenghast while he was on Sark. My favourite is Mr Pye that is set on the island. Mervyn's wife Meave was also a very talented artist.
Right this week they are looking for a dairy farmer.. they have no dairy farmer at the island right no and can offer a lot for the right person.. Contact the govn. at Sark :)
