What’s happening RU-vid, my name is Andrew Miller and this is Andrew Miller Mileage. I’m just a guy who likes to go on adventures wether it be Hiking, Running, Camping, Biking or anything else. Hopefully you all enjoy and feel the urge to get out and see the world for yourself.
I just hiked Pikes Peak with these and I liked them a lot. I picked them up at Walmart in Colorado Springs because I couldn't fly my expensive, light weight poles in. I liked the cork handles, I was able to tighten the nuts with my hand and they didn't slide in even when I put considerable pressure on them on the 16 Golden Steps at the top. The rubber foot slid on the granite, but the tungsten tip bit right in. We are training for a multi-day big mountain ascent with heavy gear, so the extra weight of these was a plus. I was going to leave them at the trailhead for the next hiker to use, but I liked them so much that I decided to keep them.
Great review.Used to trail run but now hike due to wear and tear over the decades.Usually use Ascics trail shoes as they are well cushioned, have good grippy off road tread and fit my wide feet.Tried these and 15 miles in the 13's are a little narrower but still work . Like the sturdy construction. Am in the baking 100+ semi desert sothern California region so the breathability is a plus.🤟
In my personal opinion the Nimbus is softer over shorter distances, the Novablast 4 has more solid support but begins to feel soft as time goes on (pretty normal with foam). Both great shoes but if you’re looking for soft I’d go Nimbus series
Not sure what "gore-x" is, but at that price point they definitely are not Gore-Tex waterproof. The TR-16 comes in regular mesh non-waterproof and Gore-Tex waterproof, which cost $50/60 more.
Unfortunately I do not still have these shoes, they reached their peak use and I donated them. I do recommend the Saucony Rides as well tho. I can check the insole size on them when I get home if that helps.
Used mine for 2-3 hiking seasons. Super bargain you can’t go wrong for casual hiking. Brought mine to Colorado up mixed snow routes promptly broke hard wear and bent. For real mountains I’d say nope. For anything less than for sure. 👍
Mine have just made it into another year of trail running and ultra marathon training, I’m still enjoying them as of now but I’d love to try out some other poles soon just for comparison
