I used to wonder why that kind of monster does not appear in the anime ever again. Turn out it was likely an homage to the manga where the daimon eggs attach themselves to people and then turn them into monsters like the one here.
In my mind Neptune and Uranus succeeded in getting rid of all these Daimons, forcing the Deathbusters to switch to using inanimate objects instead of humans.
This really show that it was not just the inner senshi, the outer senshi who is older and more mature than them, even they dont want to be a senshi. They have their own dreams, priorities, and they dont want to hurt innocent people. Sometime we forgot that behind those sailor suit is just normal teenage girl.
That lady on the throne DOES realize this is NOT going to end well for her, doesn't she? I mean she just killed Usagi's daughter... that is SO not going to end well.
This meet cute/origin story is so well done. Just the right amount of friction and drama to be interesting, but still very clear that this is a 'love at first sight' encounter.
Michiru being artistic as well as quietly strong and heroic in her vulnerability made me more proud to be a femme and a 12th house person astrologically. I used to want only to be a Uranian type like Haruka, because romance, openness and going with the flow of creativity scared me, but now I'm older and wiser I see the beautiful qualities of Neptune and the 12th epitomised by Michiru.
Haruka is moved near to tears by Michiru's confession, but she doesn't cry. Uranians as an astrological archetype are known to mask their emotions or hold them back, whereas Neptunians are known as open books emotionally who know how to cry and be honest (sometimes too much) spilling their feelings. Also, Neptunians are the type to self-sacrifice...
