I like how William focus on Jesus and simple faith, talking about church fathers with respect and admiration rather than exalting them above the main truth. Jesus is King, he died, rose from the dead, lives and is our only hope of salvation and justification. God bless you brother William, stay firm on Jesus.

Why do Catholics add dogmatic claims that are not substantiated by evidence in the Bible? The Bible does not state or imply that there was an Assumption event for Mary (I’m assuming, no pun intended, that you’re referring to her Assumption when you say “ascension”). However the Bible does describe Jesus’ ascension. So yes, it makes sense that WLC would hold these beliefs.

ALL Religions do this! You will never get two people to agree on absolutely everything because we are all individuals and not clones of each other. Even my mother and I, who were extremely close and both devout Catholics, did not agree on everything! I'm not Catholic any more by the way.

Its good that he catches himself pointing out the differences. That is really what real Christianity is imho. Yes, there are differences, but over time there is also common ground.

William Lane Craig is a guy I don't agree with on very many theological issues, but he is very smart and charitable. He's a great asset to have on Christian apologetics.
Hmmm unfortunately Craig doesn’t really go into the reasons why Catholicism is heretical. Mainly, emphasis on human works, i.e. putting the cart before the horse, instead of faith-- with works merely resulting from faith that is a gift from God/the Holy Spirit, "...lest any man should boast."

There's no need to get blue in the face going back & forth between Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestantism trying to have the last word, just let that portion "be."
Relationships with people are one thing, and all true Christians should be a demonstration of the pure love of the Lord Jesus Christ, but I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in being "civil" towards the bloodthirsty pagan religion of Roman Catholicism. No true Christian would be either.
As a JOYFULLY ex Roman Catholic, I couldn't be more appalled that Craig would sit down with a Catholic priest and a Catholic audience and NOT fully expose the bloodthirsty, pagan idolatrous history of my former cult. I know i certainly did when an elderly priest in my restaurant tried to tell me that Jesus established "only one church: the Roman Catholic church." I confronted him instantly on their bloody history to rebuff his false assertion. "Sir, do you really believe that the Lord Jesus Christ would establish a church that went on to slaughter MILLIONS of people in His name because they would not embrace Roman Catholicism?" You could have heard a pin drop when I boldly, but gently, asked him that question! He didn't know what to say, honestly, but as a very well educated man, he certainly knew the same Catholic history that I knew. Perhaps that's why he could only sheepishly reply, "Well, I hope some day you'll come home to the Catholic church." I gently rebuffed that remark, as well. The priest wasn't angry with me, and he even left me a tip! Catholics need Christ Himself, not the bloodthirsty false religion of Roman Catholicism, which is taking them to Hell. I wish Mr Craig would have been more honest with his Catholic audience.
I greatly respect William Lane Craig. I think he should study the issues that keep him from being Catholic. If the church has the power to bind and lose and christ will not abandon his church and that it is the pillar and foundation of truth, then logicaly the marian dogmas are true. Not to mention, it is a belief of the early Christians and church fathers.

The protestants hear you loud and clear - have for centuries through the torture and murder. The thin veneer of ecumenism doesn't cover Romanism's (and your) hatred for them. Youi should really examine why a religion that hate you, and all that are not of them, is in agreement with you about Mary.
Salvation is not about the right religion. It’s about a relationship with my Savior. What He did for me on the cross and as an attitude of gratitude to trust and rely on Him. Jesus Himself said, “no one comes to the Father except through Me”. Believe Him friends 🙂
Jesus started one true Church, and that Church is the Holy Catholic Church, this is public information you can look up if you don’t believe me. Protestants have been around for no more than 505 years, how can Protestants come from the time of Jesus? Although the Catholic Church does teach that people outside of the Catholic Church can be saved, you find the fullness of Christ and the true and entire practice of what Christ intended his Church to practice (7 Sacraments and much more).
