After paying over $168 for this wallet 5 months ago I was expecting at least 5 years of use from this wallet but 5 months later I don't think it will be used by me for that long. First of all, it's made of some kind of rubber-esh/plastic-esh material, definitely not leather, as we know. The Cerakote finish it's not the best for wallets, especially if you keep your wallet with your coins and keys… I don't keep my wallet with coins and keys and still after five months it looks like it's been used for 5 years… I did contact the Dango support line about my wear and tear issue but they told me that they don't have a warranty for that kind of issue, only if I get a crack in the DTEX material or aluminum frame part… And Yes, loose stitches or wear will not get covered after 12 months…
I just ordered a version 3. I think it might be a good weapon light for a different reason- dry fire practice. I wouldn't carry with it because I don't think guns and batteries mix well, but if you can drop the hammer on an empty chamber with a far-reaching laserish light without looking like a total idiot, that is most of shooting. Watch any slow motion footage of a gun firing and you will see that the gun itself doesn't move until the bullet is inches out of the barrel, which means all misses are on the shooter. As an added benefit, the money you save by not wasting ammo will pay for the light. Your mileage will likely vary.
Just got one this week.... it's crazy I never heard of Dango till a couple months back. I got 1 question about the sort of fail on the tool buckle.... about how long after purchase did the problem occur. Thanks!
Have had this wallet for 5 years. Had to replace the cash band once, that was last year. The little strap that holds the closing tool, which is also a bottle opener, I have replaced twice. It is bulky and there have been times I swapped it for a thinner lighter wallet, due to clothing especially in the summer. When traveling through the airport I leave the multi tool at home. 8 out of 10. Looks good. The body is durable, the 2 straps are not.
Thats a good light and mine should be here in a few days. Just a wake up call, this lite was tested and you can find it on youtube where he tests 22 different LEP Lites. Well, this one in real life not on County comm paper is a true 291 LM not 600...and 396,000 CD not 895,000 so buyer beware.
Will the flap go over your badge for normal carry? There's not many options out there for carrying badge off duty so I'm interested in this but don't really want to flash my badge around when paying for groceries.
Have the same wallet and I love it. My only gripe is the dtex will wear out. I’m pretty careful with mine and my dtex still shows signs of wear on the fold and on top of pockets
Recently changed the bezel and strap for new on mine (had to be a gulfman 9110 strap as i could not get a riseman) as the old ones were ridiculously shiny and smelt wierd. It looks fucking amazing again. Its at least 14 years old, and i was wearing it yesterday and a colleague was like "wow, what watch is that? Its awesome...."
Nice review. I’ve had one of these for months and I always have it on me. I live in the woods and I love the ability to throw a precise beam without lighting up the neighborhood. My brother and I even use it to point at stars and discuss constellations. Incredible how easy it is to show someone which star you are looking at with this.
Have you ever measured the distance from the surface of the decked system in the bed and the space up the tonneau cover? Trying to figure out if a folded up baby stroller will fit on top of it with the tonneau cover rolled down. I want to get one for my truck but my wife will be pissed if the stroller won’t fit back there with it and the tonneau cover rolled down 😂
Great knife design! I remember when the kwaiken mods were popular. I put a fine satin finish and blue/purple flame anodization on the Ti scales on mine. I’m really proud how it turned out. And you aren’t kidding about IKBS disassembly haha! Watchmaker: “so many small parts and pieces, I hope I don’t lose them.” IKBS knife: “hold my beer”
