Were Julian, Lisa with our two dog Rasta & Mary, were adventurous married couple from Nebraska. We love traveling around the backroads of North America in our Jeep exploring new trails and enjoying natures beauty or hiking incredible trails with our pups. You can also find us occasionally venturing into new towns to enjoy a unique cup of coffee or bite to eat of a local favorite. We created Bluebird Overland as a way of sharing our travels and inspiring others to get out and see the world and chase their dreams. We are not experts but are very enthusiastic about traveling and living a peaceful lifestyle away from the city. Though our goal is to explore all 50 states, our journeys are more about the experiences we get to share and the friendships we build along the way.
We hope to have you along for the adventure, please like, subscribe and comment. We greatly appreciate all of the support.
We did to begin with also. JCR OFFROAD has some really good videos on most of their products they offer and everything is made in house to order. Really impressed with this rack.
love the drone shots brother. beautiful views. we just got back from doing the trail on foot, the whole time I was thinking how awesome it would be to do this or have an ATV. can't wait to see more of your adventures, subbed
You didn't travel far but had to earn almost every mile. Nice driving! We love hanging out in Georgetown and Idaho Springs. I grew up in California's first mining town, New Almaden, 1845, so have a thing for mining towns.
Next time you are in Idaho Springs stop and give Beau Jos a try for dinner. Really good pizzas. Mining towns are so much fun to search for. So much incredible history to learn about.
@@BluebirdOverland I've been to all 47 remaining CO mining towns. I'm thinking of doing a series with our AWDTransitOverland on those towns. Some are remoteish but most are on pavement so not very overlanding, more of a road trip. I also want to NV and CA gold and silver mining towns. Next week we'll be exploring the back roads and passes in the San Juans and we'll cover those towns.
Thanks, I really enjoy adding information to my videos. Production of the videos depends on the video. Being new typically takes me about 2-3days to put everything together.
Pretty cool. I did this run last week and camped down by the river. Drone makes it where you can spot sketchy areas. I came from the opposite direction, so it was sketchy at best!
Nice outing. Looks like you were able to miss the Jupiter fire and now there's another two up north and one down by Cushman. I travel with mt Yellow Lab and love every minute being out there watching her swim and run. North end weather can be on the wet side.
I love to drive so I love your more on driving footages. I can feel that I'm there with you. Nice road trip and the view is always relaxing to see. Thank you guys. God bless you.
Thank you so very much. I’m so happy you enjoyed the video and were able to feel and an experience from it. That’s the direction I’m trying to give off in my videos. Want my viewers to feel like they are there with me and actually see the trail and what it’s like. Thank you and god bless. He’s so good
@@BluebirdOverland excellent! I put on a 3in teraflex lift and falcon 3.3 shocks on my Red Jeep JK. Way better ride now. I live in the Seattle area. Maybe I’ll see ya someday on the trails. Cheers
As many places as you go, I am surprised you don't bring me rocks or crystals lol. I know some places you can't take anything from but, hey your brother owns a rock and crystal shop.. lol. Glad it is working for you, keep doing your thing!. Hi Lisa, bout time you got off work to go. Take care. I will share you on the the shop page again!
That's how it is in the Olympic NF and surrounding logging territory. The maps are inaccurate. The maps are wrong. Some things are gated and not shown on maps. Some things are shown as gated and they are not. Not surprising that your road ran into a river with a cliff. Some of these roads haven't been maintained since prior to The Nixon administration. One thing we ask carry here is a chain saw. With 100 trillion trillion trees, it's not uncommon for one to fall across the road. Especially in the winter, fall or spring when the winds kick up. You never go on these Forest service roads without a chainsaw. You can run up the road and then a tree falls across it and you can't get out. But of course there 's very little in the way of solution in case a big boulder falls across the road. Just hope your tow strap and your truck can pull it out of the way.
Yeah I bought an electric chainsaw to begin on my next adventures. The whole peninsula is absolutely stunning beautiful there were so many areas that I wanted to explore. Some of the roads were tight and we’re beginning to look overgrown which goes in line with what you’ve said.
I was just driving along and seen a lot of cars stopped and I about lost it because prior i had never seen a bald eagle so close. There is a little coffee shop just up from that spot. It was so good also.
Great video brother! I tool around in the south part of the Olympics and randomly find camping spots like you do. Luckily I live only 20 minutes from the forest. Can't wait to see the rest of this series!
Thanks so much. There's SO much to explore on the south side of the Peninsula. I was pressed to leave and head back inland but was short on fuel. I will be back spring of 2025 to search out some epic trails and camps.
Love the video. Sadly this area is right on the fire line as of this week and Hwy 12 is closed. Also only way back down to Hwy 12 is along the divide ridge trail then down 4W608A to long lake and rimrock
Thank you for the correct pronunciation on that. I absolutely plan on coming back to that area to explore some more this winter or come spring time 2025. Would love to know other ways around the gates.
Great video! Its still very beautiful up there. It's mostly burned over such a vast area but at least the Djxie fire left a lot of green patches in most of it's path, unlike the smaller but much more destructive fire in the west central part of the Plumas in 21.
Yeah I was very surprised by how much green was starting to come back already also. Very beautiful area. I plan to return sometime in 2025 to explore a little deeper into the area. Lots of very cool little towns headed up into this area also.
Fresh snow is great till it starts bringing down trees all around you or covers up old winter snow. Beautiful country, lived north of Bremerton for a few years.
@@BluebirdOverland They were. I camped at the big site you passed at bout 18:50. One of those wide pullouts right at the top would have been perfect, but they aren't hammock friendly.
@@davepalmer1739 that's funny I thought about staying at that spot after I had passed it. Yeah, not much up there is hammock-friendly until you get down in lower elevations. Even this it was pretty sparse.
