Rabid hiker, bicycle rider, backpacker, camper, I spend as much time in the forest as possible, riding my bicycle up some 24 miles to Cogswell Dam, spending the night (or two) and biking back down again in the morning.
People who know me also know that I do extensive community service work, unpaid efforts that allow me to enjoy the wilderness while also giving back to the wider community of hikers, bikers, campers, climbers, fishers, all that happy, exercise-driven stuff!
I am not an employee of any land management agency, and despite being in the mountains most of the time, I am not homeless, I just tend to get a lot of exercise.
Dude, calling everyone who voted for Trump "neo nazi fascists" is ignorant and just not true. I'm certain there are tons of good hearted people who voted for Trump. Basing your entire persona around American politics shows a lack of intelligence. I'm saying this as a pretty much apolitical non-American. Grow up.
Instead of posting videos complaining about people's driving, I'd love more content of just you in the car, singing. An hour of it, though two would be nice. I'd watch the whole thing. I would show it to all of my friends and family. Hell, I might even pay to see it.
@@AngryNotSoOldHippywhat I love about this reply is that no matter how you align politically, you can agree with it: Democrat? “Yeah, Republicans are stupid and so is he.” Republican? “Yeah, Republicans are really smart and so is he.” 😂
@@AngryNotSoOldHippy I see you’re obsessed with labeling anyone you don’t like a Republican, lol. What a small minded person you must be. How sad for you. 😢
@@AngryNotSoOldHippy Well I don't know what makes you say that, lmao, but that guy was definitely not smart. he ran the red light and he took a left turn in the wrong lane. I bet my bottom dollar he had no idea if traffic was coming or not with that median in the way.
The rain made the day's effort easy, compared to hot days. The last time I worked on the trail that distance, I had real difficulty getting back, I needed Bryan's help. I got cooled down in the creek at the end which got me going again.
For city Parks and Recreation we have some leeway in where the trail goes, they want it to follow the original trail pat but if we encounter a living tree in the original path, we route around it. In the National Forests they want the trail exactly where it was historically, all of their surveys and environmental studies and impact reports et al. are for the trail as it was laid down, some times centuries ago, so we can't divert around things on Federal land.
We encounter rattle snakes about half of the work days, got some along Pavil Canyon last weekend. A contractor come out and weed whacked Elderberry 4 weeks ago so that helps with the snakes! Damned hot.
every year trails need restoration. is this unusual?if it is a natural trail then no. shit grows and obscures any trail not being regularly used! (and yes i said shit grows and we know shit does not grow but other shit grows in it!!! )
Well, we got an unusual amount of rain this year, so much so that we have had an unusual amount of growth -- which means a likely difficult fire season. But we usually return to a trail every other year.
LOL! Yes. :) We try to avoid hikers because there is some danger in doing trail work while people hike through. Spending the night so we can work at dawn some times helps.
:) Speeding through people hiking, I slowed him and his penis down, made him upset, it did. :) Then the crybaby sped off at high speed again, crying. :)
I think that the contractor had specific instructions to clear as much brush as possible and not do any tread work or hazard reduction. The contractor took care of several trails and was paid a HUGE amount of cash but had a crew of 7. So there are spots where the volunteers need to come and finish some things. I think the contractor brought loppers and hand saws but no chainsaw. :)
