Did you notice that we'll never see Gidget Griffin/Francine Lawrence as a little girl? I know what's missing. Caryn Richmond, who played as Gidget Griffin/Francine Lawrence, was supposed to be the character whose in her late 30s and early 40s.
I liked Cindy Carol the best.i am 46 years old.i saw this movie when I was 14 years old.cindy carol never fails to charm me.i wish she played gidget more often.
such a beautiful time of growing up. Such innocence and morality was bliss. italy.was portrayed just the way it was Rome the city of eternal beauty. And history that you can.almost feel and smell. yes the movie taught me just that.it was a great story of innocence.
Is there anyone more beautiful than James Darren in this movie? He is so mature compared to this particular Gidget - not the chemistry that he had with Sandra Dee. I can see why he would fall for the beautiful Italian tour guide. This Gidget is so silly...
me too! He seems like he really doesnt want to be with gidget at the end of the movie. I kind of understand because this gidget is the most annoying, like a kid compared to Jeff. But still, I want him to act like loves her.
I guess this movie was supposed to be more bittersweet because they are growing up and coming of age.that is probably why they took the characters in this direction.
I did not care for this Gidget , but I love her kooky friend the blonde here -Trudy Ames, she only did a few movies and such but she was (my opinion) the perfect girl next door type , don't know why the entire movie cant be posted , for pete's sake these simple OLD movies use to be shown on syndicated channels just about every weekend , it's not like Star Wars or Gone with the Wind , makes no sense .
Regarding trudi ames someone on imdb posted that she should have played gidget.although I personally love Cindy Carol as gidget.i saw trudi in bye bye birdie.
@@MTknitter22 Deborah walley was a delight as gidget.cindy Carol did say that James Darren did complain of having to do a third gidget.he did not want to do another one.but I guess he was under contract.he did say that after getting good reviews in the guns of Navarone he should he fought for better parts in movies.because he said the gidget movies might have been teen flicks but they were big budget movies that is true.gidget goes Hawaiian was filmed in Hawaii and gidget goes to rome was filmed on rome.so there was nothing cheesy cardboard about the gidget movies.they were not studio bound movies shot on the lot.
she was a child actress using the name Carol Sydes and did a lot of TV. she got married to a rich doctor (in 1964, the end of her acting career). divorced him 3 years later. got married right away to someone else and raised two kids. divorced him in 1988. became a school teacher. not much mystery.
It was a mystery at onetime before the internet.i saw gidget goes to Rome in 1990 and I wondered what happened to her because she did seem to vanish.for me her life was a mystery until the internet and all.nothing was written about her.
I love this movie, when I first saw it 25 years ago, I thought Cindy Carol was the most perfect girl I've ever seen. I still feel the same way. Why she was only in 2 movies is still a mystery to me.
I thought so too that Cindy Carol was the most perfect girl when I saw her in gidget goes to Rome back in March 1990 when I was 14 years old.i too back then wondered what happened to her too.a few months later I watched her in dear Brigitte because of her.i 1994 I caught her in an appearance on the Donna Reed show.thankfully to the internet all of Cindy Carol's fans know about her.because before that her life was a mystery.
