Hi lovely video, I am wanting to make a thomas cake for my grandson's 1st birthday, please can you email the templates as I cannot download them, much appreciated 😊
Thank you for this video. I have a few questions. How do you bake layers so shallow and how do you level the layers before stacking them? Also, is genoche that much stronger than buttercream icing or can you use either. Lastly, at what point do you place the train on the base cake? Any tricks to avoid damaging it? Your response is appreciated.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I use a sheet pan 9*13 to bake the cakes, and used a cake leveller to cut the layers. Ganache holds way better than buttercream so it's easier to get a nice finish. Here's my ganache recipe sweetvalleycreations.com/recipes/chocolate-ganache/ I placed the train on top of the base after placing the base at the final destination where the cake would be at the party to avoid any damage. Wish you all the best with baking!!!
Another very creative idea. Love it. Plz tell me the cake for fondant is different from a regular sponge as it needs to b more dense than a spong e as the sponge one will sag under the weight of the fondant cover. Plz give me a recipe for the base cake Thanks ❣️💐🎉
Sorry, it's been some time since I made this, so can't remember exactly. I think I baked two rectangular cake 9'X11' for Thomas. The bottom round cake is a 9 inch round. Hope it helps...
Thank you so much for this amazing video. Also your generosity with sharing the templates etc. I made it and couldn’t have done it without your help. Thank you.
