Veloren could have been an amazing title had they provided a mega server for players to be on. Instead it's kind of meh. Better than cube world but still lacks every MMO type features that it needs to be a success. It could have been the Trove we all needed.

Unfortunate fact is currently that the pets / mounts are completely useless unless youre prepared to lose them constantly. They are less than useless in combat and they constantly get killed by enemies. So make sure you have multiple Collars in order to re-tame a new critter every time you want one :D P.S Eagle isnt a flying creature. Not in Veloren. It walks on ground, at least Ive personally never seen Eagle in the air. It is always down to earth
