Hi, I'm Rx003 or you can call me Rx. I'm also known as the "Vega Soundtest Guy" I also do a lot of Soundtest and a short review for various switches on a specific keyboard aka Vega 65 by ai03.
Also a disclaimer, the sound and experience on a switch may vary depending on your keyboard build, mic, desk setup, deskmat and even your room ambience. The purpose of my channel is to just try a lot of switch on the Vega so that you can have an idea what the switch may sound and feel like. At the end of the day its all about preference.
I put these on my k10 which came with Gateron browns. These are far superior to Gateron browns, The tactile bump is much more pronounced, they're smoother even unlubed, and its also more comfortable to type on these compared to the browns.
i bought the akko 3068b plus (comes with a foam already inside), it came with jelly blue. Quite nice tactile but it had a clicky sound that can be annoying for people around you So I bought the penguins and is fricking silent like a non mechanical keyboard. The switches feels less tactile than the jelly blue and has less pre-travel than the jelly blues (almost no pre-travel) the resistance it right there at the start. In theory it should have the same force than the jelly blues but it feels lighter. If you put foam under your keyboard it gets even more silent
My friend is gifting me a set of transparent keycaps for my first custom keyboard and I've been searching for completely clear switches, I appreciate the multiple comparisons so it's easier to tell if the sound really is good.
Im considering theese with a Akko 5087S board.. since the boards only comes with switches i dont like. Im also on ISO Nordic. Everything is like sold out or just expensive. My plan is to buy this as a extra board in my office for lab computers. And buy a Keychron K10 Pro as main board. Upgrading from a bad wireless Logitech with membranes.
i picked these up on sale for a total of $14 for a 65% layout and they are SO worth it if you need to save a few bucks. I was looking for an alternative to gateron box ink pinks which I ADORED testing out but sadly i dont have the money to spend much on keyboards. They feel very similar IMO, with the box pinks feeling more responsive and higher pitched. The also come prelubed unlike the box pinks, another pro. The only issue(FOR ME) is they're not the most suited for fps gaming unlike the box pinks. They're definetely not bad for gaming especially if you're a lighter typist, but I just went ahead and replaced the wasd keys with some extra "gaming" switches since I use 1 keyboard for both gaming and leisure. NOTE: if u do decide to get them off amazon, just wait until the 35pc go on sale for like $7 usd, it happens quite often.
great review! on your board, vertex v1 doesn't sound deep enough compared to other switches in the video. in my rainy75 (ad other youtube videos) vertex v1 is deeper. on par with gat oil black.
Yes, would love to see them designing their own as well soon! I hope they can do it. Thanks for watching as well I appreciate taking time in checking my review!
Edit: in total I ordered 6 units of blue one. Of 6 units only one was unfaulty. 1 came scratched, 1 came without support rubber on the bottom, 1 came without rgb on capslock and delete key, and other 2 came without working software - couldn't change key layout. Half of them all didn't have working 2.4gHz connection. In one unit after replacing the spacebar stabilizer the whole keyboard stopped working.. It looks so good but the quality is such a distaster that's it's hard to recommend.
I just ordered one for 60 euros, 3 years ago this would get you something like the epomaker gk68, which was my first modding oriented keyboard, and it had nothing, no foam, bad prelubed stabs that not even the holee mod could save, like besides being top plate mounted and hot swappable there wasn't anything else remotely close to the custom kits we have now. Like sure the gk68 came with switches and alright keycaps, but the switches were cheap unlubed and wobbly gateron blacks and the keycaps aren't good looking at all. And it was plastic. This on the other hand is metal, has a daughter, lots of foam and pads you'd have modded yourself back in the day, a weight lol, flex cuts, great stabs out the gate, and the only thing it really doesn't have is via support. How far we've come lol.
