Woah, I always loved the green and gold! I mean, yeah, the early graphics didn't do it justice, but still, in real life IMO it was a beautiful livery! I find it fascinating how wildly people's opinions can vary on the same things. Anyway, expertly driven as always!
You are the Someguy that just schooled me to knowledge of my favorite track of modern racing, hat’s off to you and a big thanks for your effort and great content. A fabulous video and I will for sure make seat in this 60’s version of the track enjoying it even more as I now know the history behind it./ And congrats for breaking the 3k barrier 🎉😊
So that glitch at Fonteny is actually only there if you leave car extended physics turned on. Leave it off and you never will hit those 2 invisible blocks in the road, or if you learn where they are you just go around or avoid them. Never found any other track with that problem so it is strange ! That Piper is incredibly good fun to race though
Love the car, track not so much as it is just far too long with very short straight sections so you hardly ever get to max out any car speed except slow underpowered ones. Best track for these older beasts is Fonteny by Fat Alfie. Best track in all of sim racing ever ! 😁
I cannot imagine how many laps I have around "Bryar". Beginning in 1970 and into 1983 I raced it both directions running in AMA races and AAMRR events, add a couple of "rogue" events in the fall. One of the best tracks ever made.
The fucking proportions on this car, man. It makes sense to design a car this way to effectively create a self-propelled arrow, but sheesh 🤣 Take the knee-high concept used on the first Shadow Can-Am racers, drape closed bodywork over it, sting it with wasps until it has to go to the hospital, swing it by the tail from an excavator, and then give it the massive anime eyes from the 2017-spec Porsche 919, and you have a Piper GTR.
Even though today New Hampshire Motor Speedway sits where this circuit used to be it's good to see it brought back in some way. I like this preservation of local history
Hang on, just about every pre-1982 car available in AC? I haven't seen you do a lap in the Benz Patent Motorwagen yet... 😉 or the Ford 999 (can't blame you on that one, it's a terrifying machine but at least it's quicker than walking pace!)
I actually did try the Benz. It can't make it up the first hill. And I've done a lap in all the 20's and 30's GP cars. I just didn't upload all of those replays.
Just stunning, thanks for sharing. It put a big smile on my face just before turning of the light and getting some sleep. Great capture, thanks again !!
Such a shame about this mod, Bazza had developed fully accurate physics for this car, only for it to be scrapped by HSS. The WSC version is much, much scarier.
Historic Sim Studios have finally created what was long overdue since the advent of racing simulators - the accurate historic layout of Monza. On their channel they have also stated they are working on the Vedano layout, which for some criminal reasons has been overlooked by mod makers. I hope with the release of this version we will stop seeing those stupid videos of the 1966 layout claiming to be driving on the 'original' layout.
