I’ve been thinking: what’s the difference between a loli character and a child character? Like, in seriousness, looking at the term, is “loli” only applicable when it comes to a minor character that is sexualised / a character that looks like a minor, acts like a minor and dresses like a minor, but “is actually an ancient vampire, so it’s fine!” or does it apply to characters that are minors but are not sexualised by the narrative? Like, is Lily from “Zombieland Saga” considered a loli character since she is a minor, or is she not, since she isn’t sexualised in the show in anyway?
In short, there's really no difference. I think people just use that term in order to try and make it seem like it's less bad than it actually is. It's like those people who call themselves MAPS: they're just using a different term so uninformed people on the outside looking in internally downplay its severity.
