There were some Mary Poppins features in the room. (My husband LOVES Mary Poppins, so I think he’d actually appreciate some of the features in this room.)
@BAKER22-l4u I really felt there was! I should have zoomed in more, but there are Mary Poppins touches throughout the whole room. I went in depth with those in my first Grand referb video from this time last year. I'm sorry you don't feel the Disney magic in the room. The castle was pretty magical for us. Hope you find it in your stay! 🙂
@@MissLauraSquaredI agree, the Mary Poppins theme is beautifully appointed. The previous rooms here, while they did have a bunch of hidden Mickeys, didn't feel as "disney" to me as these do. 😊
We thought they were pretty decent. We also used the extra blankets that are provided. We like it cold to bundle up. 😀 I will say our little one preferred to use her soft blanket from home has her base layer, and the Disney blankets on top. I hope that helps.
I just stayed in a unit that had the same bathroom as the second bedroom. The reburb, in my opinion, really decreased the utility of the second bathroom. When they installed the slidind doors on the tub with the thick hardware it makes it had to get in the tub to shower, you can't sit on the side of the tub to wash your feet if they are sandy and you have to deal with that high metal rail if you want to bathe a child. Those sliding foors on the tub get annoying fast.
I can totally relate to that. I was in another room at a different resort with the sliding doors, and I totally understand. I'm sorry it dampered your experience.
we’ve stayed at FQ a few times & always get a room with a king bed. gives u more space & gives u a corner room. we’ve stayed in building 4 & that’s a great location. seconds away from the food court & lobby & a short walk to the bus stops. FQ is a great resort.
Thanks for asking! We called Disney's reservation line. Every Deluxe resort (non-DVC) has a presidential (and some VP as well) suite. They aren't always advertised on the website. However, if you call, you can check availability and rates for these rooms. Hope that helps. 😊
Yes, each deluxe resort has their own club level lounge offerings that match the theme to the resort. The food is different every day. There are also dedicated cast in the lounge to help with any questions you may have for your trip. I know this food might not be everyone's favorite, but each lounge is different. The food at the Poly was good, too. So was Coronado Springs and Beach Club Resort. My favorite lounge food is probably from Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Thank you so much for the detailed tour! Agreed, many improvements and brightened accents. I suspect that you were in the highest floor (5th floor)? I am wondering if "vaulted cielings" are the standard in all the rooms, or just the ones on the top floor (if indeed your room was on the highest floor)?
We were on the 5th floor! It was so much to be up there. We were still able to see the Electric Water Pageant through the trees. It was so lovely! I don't believe the other floors have vaulted ceilings, but it is something I can look into. 😀
Only the top floor villas have the "vaulted ceilings". Because of that, they have the sofa bed instead of the murphy bed (i.e. there isn't room for attaching it to the wall with the angled ceiling). The other villas all have the new murphy beds in the living room.
Thanks for asking! Yes, this is a standard room at the Grand Floridian. This room is located in the Boca Chica building. The only rooms converted to studios for DVC were in Old Pine Key building. Hope that helps!

It really wasn't too bad. We were all the way at the end of the hall, too. The Boulder Ridge building isn't that big to begin with. It was a bit of a hike to get to the main lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. Busses, however, were pretty close. Hope that helps. 😊

We couldn't see the EWP from the room, but just down the hall is a big window that you can peer out and I think see it. Also, there is a dock where the boats run where I believe you can see it as well. (I have not seen it from there myself.) Thank you for the compliment. If you book this room, make sure to book this exact room. I have another room tour up where we booked a fireworks view again and the view was completely different.
Caught another video of this from 2006 it looks like. There was a cool draping over the master bedroom canopy and a treadmill on the balcony! Wonder what in people's behaviors necessitated pulling those things...sigh. Great vid though!
@jenniferrundle6870 yes! And the staff was out of this world. They remembered everyone's names and had things waiting that my family liked. We also had special desserts in our room every night that were not in the lounge. The fridge was also stocked every day with drinks and food for us without asking.

Haha, the sink part isn't. The bathroom part is. We were at the all stars a few weeks after this. It is actually the same "size" water closet, but the door on the shower makes it feels smaller since their doors slide. The double vanity is definitely a nice area in this room!
Rack rate on this room is anywhere from 2,000 to 5,000 a night, depending on the season. Discounts can absolutely be found for this room, such as Floroda Resident or Annual Passholder. It very comfortably sleeps 6. The primary room sleeps 2, and the 2nd bedroom sleeps 4. Hope that helps!
Fr fr!!!!! It is so much nicer than any place I've stayed before. I literally went home and bought the same pillows they have on the beds. They are so comfy!
Agreed! Before we stayed in this room, I thought the same thing. It's nice being on the end of the area, so we only had people on one side of us. Gave the kids a little more freedom with noise.
@@beeksmcgeeks I’d like to stay at WL if I can ever come up enough money , so far my budget only allows Pop Century and sometimes Port Orleans lol, wilderness is by far one of my favorite resorts and I honestly like it better then some of the monorail MK resorts , whispering canyon is my favorite restaurant also
WL is a great one, too! Honestly, we do a lot of split stays. That is the best way to check out new resorts. One day on the end of your stay vs the whole time there. And we rarely stay rack rate. They have had a lot of great discounts this summer and into fall. Port Orleans is a BEAUTIFUL resort. Can't go wrong with the food at that resort. And I love the Skyliner at Pop.
@@beeksmcgeeks I’m an AP holder so I get those discounts, also I recently applied for the Disney College Program so if I get into that ( fingers crossed!!!) I’ll get cast member discounts, I’ll definitely have to do 1 day staycations if I end up getting down there , we stayed at WL years and years ago and I’ve always wanted to stay again , I really love the rustic feel it has and the theming is great , plus I’ve been standard rooms go for around $285-$290 a night with my discounts so I’ll just have to catch it at the right time , my next trip is October for the Halloween party but I’m staying at Pop

I know you’re a conscientious person, so please don’t take this wrong, I’m just telling you some fun facts. The design of the buildings and the art at that hotel has a phenomenal background. More than any other on property and I think you will be pleased to know this. They hired actual architects and artists and builders from all over Africa to design this resort. So it’s not Animal Lodge or Kingdom art, it’s traditional African art, copied from their culture. They asked to have copies reproduced vs buying their sentimental artifacts though a few items were gifted them to them and are labeled in the lobby. The baskets on the walls in all halls and rooms wherever you find them were all hand made as well the woven lights. The last shots you showed were traditional patterns for their formal and daily wear. The painted shields on the ceiling lights were done by the ancestors of warrior men carrying on the tradition of the arts and dances but not the wars in the lobby. They have a lot of meaning in the shapes they chose, though to us it’s just nice shapes in a design. Every shape had a meaning, and the color they chose too.all very symbolic. When the resort first opened they had interesting greeters from Africa who gave pretty extensive tours and when we had ours it happened that only our family was there… we got to ask a lot of questions. It was very educational. I was very pleased Disney followed Walt’s tradition of finding the most qualified people to research and design the place as authentically as possible. We’re DVC members, so I knew about these choices before going, but what I didn’t know was we would get to meet so many of the artisans ! And people from Africa on the staff. They are amazing friendly people. I had a tenant recently from there who has returned, and he is such a sweetheart of a man. We really got along well. We still chat and catch up once in awhile. I’m hoping to attend his wedding. I would be very excited to meet his family and see his country. He makes it sound lovely and interesting, very interesting.

It's definitely a room designed for important people with assistants or secret service... not us at that time. 🤣🤣🤣 It did make a nice place to lay out outfits for the next day.
The nightly turndown had special treats each night. I have pictures of those on my Instagram: Beeks.McGeeks Other than that, it was the same concierge as the rest of the club. They club staff is great at ALK. We paid for all additional offerings they helped us set up.
It popped up on the website the day we were looking for our trip and we snatched it up! I have seen other Presidential Suites on the site before as well. You can call the reservation line and ask about that room specifically. They are often booked up when I look. Hope you find what you are looking for! 🙂
Definitely do a room on the other side. I can't remember the room number, but it's in my other Wilderness video, and it was wonderful, and the cabins were below us. Go for a room on that side of the building for sure! (If you want, my Instagram has pictures of the fireworks from the room. It is a "partial view" for sure.
I think it was the Lord letting us get it, for real. It just popped up one day, and we were so excited to book it. I know it's rare, but you can find discounts on this room and other suites. Rack Rate is 2-5k a night, depending on the time of year you plan to stay. I hope that helps. And I hope you can find it available when you want it! :)
Yes, it it. I am happy they went with this. Especially when it comes to the Murphy bed in the living room. A real mattress vs a fold out is much nicer.
