To everyone facing this issue - Put something like a screwdriver and hammer on top of it. The cap will start becoming loose and will fall down eventually from the bottom of the pole. Good luck 👍
You need to place the screwdriver on top of the cap and hammer on top of the screw driver just enough so that the cap gets loose and starts pushing down. It will eventually drop down the pole. That’s literally what I did.

Mine has an issue when trying to screw in small screws it is way off alignment it is high off I can’t get it to screw in, please help anybody else having that issue and solutions would be greatly appreciated.
When I lean forward just a bit the whole thing leans forward catapulting me off the chair. I think it's because the base is so light and needs to be heavy? How can I make it more stable ? Thank you
I had to replace the seat on mine too so I bought another one. I screwed something up…it involved the black cap. In the end, I just replaced the seat and put it on the original stool which was made much better. Threw the new stool away.
Mine won't stay up. Hydraulic seems to work, as I can adjust it up but when I sit on it the chair slowly returns to the lowest height. Any way to adjust?
He is correct it is very important to remove the black cap; however, if you assemble the chair with the black cap still on you will have to turn it over and with a hammer and screw driver tap the black cap off.

my seat over the space of a few minutes slowly moves up, even when taken apart so i can see the red button isnt being depressed. i want it permanently on the lowest setting. Is there a way to stop or break the mechanism? Thanks

My barstool goes up and down fine. The problem is at no matter height if i try to carry the barstool by lifting from the seat, it dislodges from the piston. It does not lock in place for moving around.
Henry Rivkin from Onlymannequins.com is fraud. He still owes his Chinese suppliers thousands of dollars of payment. I think those who defraud suppliers will also swindle their customers because they are who they are. They don't pay suppliers not because of quality reasons. I have lots of emails and whatsapp screenshots of them begging me to send shipments with credit, because of their poor cash flow. Onlymannequins.com has cash flow problems. No surprise they have this problem when they treat customers and suppliers in a bad way. Be careful with this company.
I beat the crap out of the bottom of a few of these and the seat wouldn't budge. 3 out of 4 stools had their hydrolics fail within months of buying at a home goods. obvioisly the chair in the video was never even sat upon. Making it appear to be near effortless to remove. BS
LumiSource - My seat is round. I am having a hard time getting it off. I have tried hitting it with another person holding it and it is still not coming loose. Is there a trick?
