I don’t remember the centerfielder, but the Cards had the bases loaded and 2 outs. The Cardinal batter hit a line drive to rightcenter field, a sure bases clearing double, or so we thought. The centerfielder at a full sprint, dove and caught the ball on the warning track. After the initial shock and disappointment, the crowd slowly started to applaud and by the time the fielder got to the dugout, we were on our feet congratulating him on his unbelievable catch. We appreciate good hard play regardless of the player or the team and we show it.
In 2000 when Tony Gwynn was approaching 3000 hits, we gave him a standing O every AB. Barry Larkin once said he looked forward to coming to St. Louis because the fans appreciate good baseball regardless of the team.
WWE they are still around because fans have nothing better to do and they have no competition. Real wrestling fans dont watch AWE or World's Worst Entertertainment (WWE) tofay. Female hotties with no mic skills or wrestling abilities. Matches that a blind person can see it's awfully rehearsed. The only reason WCW isn't around because all good things die young! WCW WAS A MONSTER! WCW HAS A LEGACY.
Hey No one could do it better then Hollywood hogan aka hulkster hulk hogan with an entrance like this jim hendrix playing that guitar he was the greatest of all time King of Rock N Roll Chuck berry
So many memories of years when the Cardinals’ front office cared and consistently put contending/winning teams together and Busch would have a sell out crowd night after night, no matter what day of the week it was. Those were the days.
Good times. WCW were killing it! I was a WWF supporter but WCW pushed WWF into one of its greatest eras and they would win the war. But this WCW right here was the pinnacle of it all! Amazing!
The first part was the main event of Starcade 97. The second part was the beginning of Nitro the night after The Chicago Bulls won their 5th championship.
nah the booking decisions and management of shows was piss-poor, even before russo was onboarded, and the proof is in this match and the politics behind it. all he did was speed up the inevitable tbh
I remember when Tony Gwynn was closing in on 3000 hits during a home stand here in STL. There was a rain of boos every time he was walked (because you know he didn't strike out).
