I'm truly impressed by your work on Shadowed, Alexander. My daughter is also an actor, and we're gearing up to shoot a short film to enhance her portfolio. While I'm primarily a music producer, having a daughter in acting has inspired me to venture into filmmaking. I haven't yet mustered the courage to tackle extensive VFX like you have, so kudos to you! I recently began watching Orphan Black and that's how I discovered your work. Has Shadowed been released? I'd be very interested in watching it.
Great! Really loved the Star Trek Original Series "Day of the Dove" episode were the alien feeds off hate between the Enterprise crew and the Klingons. They defeat it by laughing together! 😃 Bravo!

I read the book of this horror story in 8th grade during 2004, it was a LOT like this short film, except the face in the window at the end was not a human face and it was also VERY horrifying. Too horrible to even look at. I was a little disappointed when I saw that the face peering through her window in this film WAS a human face that wasn't very ugly at all. But the music and everything else about this short film was awesome! not bad.
Yeah, in retrospect I would not show the face if I did the movie now. But when I shot this in 1999, digital and CG FX was new and I was seeing what I could do.
I don't know about the other two that you mean but mine was shot in 1999. Based on an urban legend. In 2005, I went in a different direction with a similar jigsaw theme in another short called "The Missing Piece"
This is actually based on a short story in a book with the same plot a girl finds a strange 500 piece as she fills it in she is slowly filled with dread as the puzzle starts to mimic her room eventually leading to well it being her in her room with a finished puzzle with the face in the window
The person realizes that the puzzle portrays her reality even tho after making a mess in the living room, she gives a second try? It is the dumpiest girl ever The short is pretty good but poorly executed... there’s no magic like in all horror shorts we used to have seen
No, sorry. It was made for part of an online Dracula story - un-dead.weebly.com/. It wasn't complete because NBC started airing a terrible Dracula series at the same time.
Cat - Randomcat1832 yes it is. As we many independent projects- it takes a little longer. The people we originally had doing post production sound mix and colour correction were too busy to do ours. The sound mix is done and we’re just waiting for colour correction.
According to the book of this story, the face in the window was supposed to be very horrifying, too horrible to even look at. In this film of the story, the face in the window was not scary at all. Just very normal looking and human looking, I'm very disappointed. Brilliant music though.
In 2008, I found a jigsaw puzzle at my backyard. I never ask my parents that belongs to who. That jigsaw puzzle look old but it still in a good condition. When i hold that jigsaw puzzle, my parents never ask where did you found that jigsaw puzzle. Maybe they don't really care to much or just let me play whatever i want. Tomorrow i want to solve that jigsaw puzzle. It a small pieces of jigsaw puzzle. One hours took me to solve it alone and when i saw that picture on jigsaw puzzle, I saw a beautiful picture and it's calming me. In that jigsaw puzzle has a bird flying around and a big tree with orange leaves and a small river but three pieces missing and i look it's not a perfect puzzle but it's beautiful.
ShadowedFilm's Facebook and Twitter pages seem to have disappeared. I truly hope your film will still come out. One way or another. Filmmaking is not for the faint hearted!
Thank you. It's still in the final stages of colour-correction and sound mix. Our twitter page is: @ShadowedFilm and Facebook is: facebook.com/ShadowedFilm/ Thanks for the support.
