I traded the Tahoe in never found it. The last day I drove it the voltage would drop to zero on the alternator put a $300 alternator on it . I couldn’t trust the car it had to go it was to dangerous to be on the road . The mechanic never found the issue my neighbor is going through this crap now . They already put a new engine in his and having problems .
I have the same issues but my upper dash is in5 pieces. I been looking for the Upper dash with the clips in that brown color .. All i was able to find on the internet was black. Can anyone direct me to a site where i can find it in the dark brown cocoa color the vendors that make this Do not show the colors intheir discription.
I have the same issue Running in the highway the trasmission going to 1first gear and the door lock going crazy I want to fix it where was the issue in your truck?
First report of that. I'd try to reset it again (longer perhaps) but if that continues it sounds like a bad PCM or the like. Good luck! Sold my JK for a Bronco that been built for 4 months but remains in chip hold thru July. Wish I'd kept it now.
Love it! Had this today for the 1st time. Better that it is probably an easy fix. Thanks for the confirmation, this is def my problem. GM crimp battery cables are the issue.
It’s the steering wheel position sensor. Replaced mine and now working fine. I had the same exact problems. Be sure and buy the A/C Delhi to replace it with.
This should be reported as a factory defect! Along with the airbag problem, happened to me this morning in my 2011 Tahoe😡 I jiggled the ground and that worked. The cable's almost 200 bucks about 100 for the labor.😡
Just want to confirm this. I had an identical issue with a 2013 Wrangler yesterday. Diagnosed the same way, plus the remote start would work and the jeep would shut down and red light when I put the key in and turn. I got a locksmith to check the key, but he referred me to a Chrysler mechanic. Mechanic gave video solution as suggestion 2. Suggestion 1 was: disconnect the negative terminal, press the brake pedal (to release any charge) and reconnect the terminal, ready to run... this worked like a charm. I had left the keep there all day and got it going in 3 minutes. Thanks for the video, does anyone know(recommend) a best jeep forum??
Is this why my park assist goes off and my stability trak and check engine then it goes away? I’ve done everything to my truck and spends thousands of dollars and it’s maybe a fucken negative battery cable that probably cost 40 bucks!!
Just found this video after the exact same issue and same attempt with battery cables on my 2007 hemi commander. It didn't fix it. Then I found your video. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
This is all due to a bad ground cable system and there’s no connection or weak connection to the ecm when there’s a weak connection to the electronic control module ecm for short then your car loses power and all the important things such as TC and The gauges lose a reading
Can you please tell me whats that square white or gray part with the black or brown smaller square plug that sits on top of the bigger square piece next to the sensor.
Have this same issue with my 2011 Tahoe all i do is pull over pop the hood, all i have to do is touch the negative battery cable fixes the issue. I need that cable tho it's dangerous.
Mine has that p0513 code but that red dot light turns off after i open the key for couple of secs and it still doesnt fire up.. It turns over but just doesnt fire up.
@@smlowenstein i pulled the fuse out then put it back in.. One of my coworkers cleared the code. If it acts up again ill check it and see if the code comes back
Thank you for this. Saved me from getting stranded at work. Question though, could this happen while you are driving and the vehicle shuts off on the highway? Or is it just a single check at the start of the ignition
Just replaced the SDM because of similar issues. But still have the problems. Just noticed both negative and positive battery cables are exposed. Both have slight corrosion. Have a feeling they might be the problem after your video. After your repair did the problem go away?
I had the exact same issue on my 2014 JK today and came across this to help. Sitting here at work only because I realized that it will remote start, and then run and drive fine when I put the key in and drive. But trying to start it with the key gives me the EXACT same problem as yours. I'm going to disconnect the battery tomorrow and give that a go. Thanks so much for sharing.
Tyler did this work for you? I want to try this also but worried if I do my auto start won't work anymore either! I don't seem to get notified of replyed comments on RU-vid so if you could email me that'd be awesome! Thanks in advance, austinmilleryb@gmail.com
2013 Silverado here. Headlights blink off and on going down the road. Radio display blinks off and on. Headlights and dome light pulses continuously. Wipers stop dead if I turn to high and sometimes even on low. Shifts very weird out of the blue. GM should recall and fix this crap they put out there.
@@smlowenstein I am going to install an old school clamp cable terminal and apply Noalox and see if it helps. I have read of people who replaced the whole cable and within a short time ended up with the same problem at the crimp. Will let you know the result. Putting the same defective cables on isnt going to solve the problem long term unless they improve the product is my thought.
@@smlowenstein Well, I put a new terminal end at the battery. Cleaned and applied Noalox to the other ends. No change in the problem at all. I am wondering if the amp coil that is attached to the cable is the problem. Doesnt make any sense. Not sure. Hate to buy a new cable and not solve the problem. Too many computerized functions on these things IMO.
Same exact thing happened to my vehicle I'm an electrician by trade so I know what to look for first thing I did was put my hand on the positive and negative terminals on the battery and the negative terminal was extremely hot which meant it was not making a good connection. I took it apart cleaned it put it back together was like it never happened
Wondering if the cricket sound ever can back and if the make shift clip worked? I am having the same problem and the dealership wants $1400 to replace the dash cause of that exact single broken clip.
You should go to AutoZone or O'Reillys and have them help you replace if you are not proficient yourself. Please reply with an update after you do it to let us k ow if this fixed it. Good luck!
Steve Lowenstein Wait but did you re apply the superchips programming? I have a superchips flashpaq and the exact same thing happened to me twice now! When I use a different key it will start though. Just decided that it did not want to accept the key I had been using the most often
@@smlowenstein That's great to hear. I will keep my custom settings! It's weird because this is the second time my car has essentially forgotten my key, and so I've had to get a replacement circuit board for the key (just bought those cheap Jeep keys off eBay) and pair it as a new one. Hopefully it doesn't happen again though. Thanks for the quick response!!
At this sealership now For the third time for the exact same thing, if this doesn’t fix it I’m selling it and buying another Ford. Only vehicles I’ve ever had towed or Chevrolets ironically. I have a 2011 4x4 SSV Tahoe with 41,000 miles on it. Completely unreliable and it started pulling that shit when I was in a tunnel going between Virginia Beach and Hampton Virginia. I’ve already spent about $2000 trying to fix this problem, I’m selling it after this if it’s not fixed. Never buying a Chevrolet again, Government motors
This will do the trick. If it's not the negative cable then you have rodents chewing on your electrical elsewhere, which is what occurred to my coworker last week when she lost power and had the stabilitrak light.
Steve Lowenstein The mechanic at the dealership was recommended to me and he couldn’t not replicate the problem but did not doubt the problem existed because he’s dealt with this before. He recommended that I change the power cables so that’s what I’m doing on Wednesday. I also ordered a black bear performance tuner to help fix it’s less than desirable shifting characteristics with the automatic six speed. Not interested in more horse power because it has plenty of power when it wants to but the shifting is awful, lugs a lot.
i have a 2011 suburban LTZ that i bought used about 6 months ago. i am having similar issues. i didnt have the dash and door lock problem. i had the stabilitrac problem and reduced engine power. i ALSO had 2 other problems. the remote start would stop working and the remote rear gate lift would stop working. they would work for a while and then a few times would be hit or miss if they worked and then would just stop working all together. then one time i accidentally left something on and the battery went dead. after jump starting it, everything was working right again. even remote start and rear gate were working after not working at all for months. but once again a month later and we are in hit or miss territory for them to work. also i have noticed my voltage is usually too low. my radar detector turns off automatically at like 11 volts. sometimes it will shut off due to low voltage driving 70 mph down I-75. i am dying to try fixing this ground and hoping that will work, it sounds similar. if it is not that ground, i should be correct in thinking its probably a ground someplace. i was a bit worried it was something serious. i wish i could go buy a terminal and try it tonight but i already smoked a big doob :P
Thanks electrical problems went away after replacing ground cable from battery. After my 09 Tahoe was driven to operating temperature, the problems began. The navigation system would repeatedly shut off and turn back on. When this happened, I would feel the transmission surge. Sometimes the gauges in the instrument panel would drop and then back up. The frustrating part it didn’t happen all the time, it was intermittent.
@@2lobih28 I fixed the problem change the positive and negative wires to battery upgrade them don't put GM wires they are no good and also another wire that ground the vehicle since I don't it car has no more issue
