I'm currently using a SysDef Phalanx that I 'acquired' to attack the UC. I'm playing a Fleetist with a penchant for blood; 200ish Murders. I also have a GalBank StormRider.
Will, I think it's fantastic that you have turned a game many might find "lacking" and turned it into an excellent experience. If I were up to the task, I'd reinstall Starfield and the mods. When I do, in time, I'll be sure to come back and follow along with your videos.
I really appreciate your support! It means a lot to know that you found the video helpful. I can't wait for you to jump back into Starfield; I'm here whenever you're ready to explore!
IMO its a great game.. Im replaying it right now for the first time since launch and its actually a lot better than I remembered it being..... its certainly not "space Skyrim".... but Skyrim is one of the greatest video games of all time.. Starfield is different.. it should have never been compared to Skyrim... I enjoy it though... and its highly repayable imo
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to me that you find my videos useful. Keep smiling and good luck with your manufacturing journey!
UPDATE: I just installed LOOT and... WOW!! This alone could have saved me weeks of headaches, as it shows me missing esm's to make others work; esm's out of order and multiple conflicts... Bethesda should be giving support to programs like LOOT; it really is a game changer... and yes, I definitely want to get more into the nuts and bolts!
This is absolutely AMAZING, and exactly the kind of Outpost building I've always wanted to do! My problem is, I have zero experience with Nexus mods, only Creations... If you could do a video on installing a nexus mod like B.A.S.E Building Advanced Space Encampments or share a link, it would be a huge help! Thanks for the post!!
First, Thanks for watching and commenting. I may have glossed over the fact that in this build, B.A.S,E only provides the foundation on which I placed the fabricators I keep looking in Creations for a mod that can duplicate it. As far as installing mods through Nexusmods there are severl approaches depending on your level of comfort with manual installation vs mod mangers like Mod Organizer or Vortex. How much do you want to get into the nuts and bolts of game systems?
@@willny4 Thank you for the (very quick!) response! I've started looking today at learning to manually install these mods; some seem simple enough, but others seem to need to be placed in places other than the Starfield\Data folder; I'm worried about crashing the game! Also, some people say to use Mod Organizer (easier to use with LOOT, etc) instead of Vortex... It will be a lot of work, but I would really like to know/learn more about the nuts and bolts - thanks!
Starting out I like MO because it installs the mods outside of the game folders so if anything goes wrong you can edit without screwing up the game. Like so much involving pcs the programs for enthusiasts have so many options to customize it's tough to find the right balance. In MO, for example, you can multiple instances each for a different game and then multiple profiles within each intance and you can make a portable install permitting you to play on different devices. I find The Gamer Poet" to be the best (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-07-JVWDn7LA.html) but even he complicates the initial file setup. Let me know how it goes
Awesome Factory! Thank you for the video Will New York 4! Some questions! 13:40 - What is difference between Commercial and Industrial Greenhouse? Why do you use Industrial everywhere? 8:07 - This DarkStar Cargolink - Inter System module. Is it from DarkStar Manufacturing or Aerodynamics? So all you need to do is have Helium 3 right? Now that you have used the DarkStar Cargolink system here, is there no need to use the super easy Magic transfer mod - 'SKK Universal Stash'? Is SKK Universal Stash' not being used because it makes things super easy and feels like cheating?
My experience in building big outposts is that you run up against building budget limits so if I can use one bigger building instead of two smaller ones I go for the biggest. Of course, it uses more resources so it's a trade off.The actual differences in production rates is complicated because crew assigned, bots, skill levels and LT/UT ratios all have role to play so I just say F-it and go with the biggest. Darkstar Astrodynamics. I forgot to put the link. Now corrected. In my video 3 I use Universal Stash as an alternative. Stay tuned Thanks for the great comment.
Finally...I said it before...whatever Bethesda did to add to the game for their updates was not worth loosing this mod. This goes back to Bethesda looking at mods as improvements they should include in the game instead of waiting for modders to resolve. If Bethesda is looking for how to improve...this is it...the one thing that can turn them around...look at heavily used mods and pull them into the game.
Love it. I'm a 42 year old gamer and I tell my kids all the time that I'll be a grandpa playing Xbox/PC. I'm definitely not going to give up before GTA 6 comes out even if that's in 20 more years. 😅. Shoot we were there first when Atari showed up. We have been through all the advances with video games technology. We are the first. 💪. It's really cool seeing a true O.G. playing. Thanks for making this video. I was just thinking today about getting my ships through unity we spend all that time building them just to lose them , that's insane. I've spent so much time and brain power on these ships. Would hate to lose them
Haha, you know what they say-age is just a number, but the gaming skills are forever! Just imagine grandpa in a rocking chair, yelling at the screen for not loading faster while waiting for GTA 6!
I still can't exit the Rev-8 buggy. If I gotta uninstall all mods I'll just uninstall Starfield again. For now I'll probably just play without the buggy and keep StarUI.
It sounds frustrating to be stuck in the Rev-8 buggy! Have you tried checking for any updates or troubleshooting tips? Sometimes a little tweak can make all the difference!
Wow, you seem very knowledgable about how these mods work. Is there a way to make the new Derretech ship parts available at other ship building terminals/vendors? (Even using the console?)
Thanks for this Willny. +1. I've just re-installed Starfield after a year-ish away and came across the StarUI problem. I had to uninstall Starfield and reinstall it to fix it. Anyway, I've started using PraxisUI Inventory which has just been updated today 22/09/24. It's not as customizable as StarUI, but the mod author is active. Might be worth a look.
Hope you’re having a great day, Will! Please help! I am envious of you guys who seem to be able to run TankGirl’s Player Homes and Galactic Expanse mods with no problems. I am running game version 1.13.61 and Sfse ver 0.2.12. Trying to run Player Homes and I have missing textures everywhere, no walls, windows or roofs, just doors floating in empty space. Tried Galactic Expanse and it’s worse. Do I have to revert back to 1.11.36 and use the Nif Migration mod? I have to get the older version of SFSE to be compatible with 1.11.36, presumably. Thanks very much for your time and helpful videos!
Thought I posted this before...if you see this twice, my apologies. In minute 5 of your video, you talk about not being able to link the Universal Stash to any fabricators or other storage devices BUT you said something about a cool way of being able to do that...but I'm not sure what that is. As it stands, I have 18 outposts now, without ANY Cargo Links. I'm just using the "Universal Stash" technology you teach us about. I am collecting the 10 components needed to make Vytinium Fuel Rods at one of those outposts. To feed my little factory that spits out VFRs - I'm manually pulling from the Universal Stash and dumping about 7K units of each material into a single 75K Universal Storage can, then shooting it out to the Sorters, Interim Storage Containers, Fabricators to the point where I'm consolidating the VFRs before connecting them to a Seller, that drops 30K cred sticks into the Galbank like container...then selling them via a local Trade Authority Kiosk. Have bumped my "bank" north of 3 million credits...so have all I really need BUT... Was wondering if there's any way to wring any more automation out of this...either at the process step where I'm pulling from the Universal Stash OR when picking up cred sticks from the Galbank "container." In my pre-retirement life I spend more than a couple of years working in process improvement using the LEAN Six Sigma process improvement methodology. I like where you're going when you say in one of your next videos that you're going to approach this from a standpoint of scarcity. I think there's something there...really! When things become TOO easy - it's like trying to play multi-player Call of Duty with a bunch of kids who never did any "fire and manuever" or time in the military. Soldiers don't RUN everywhere they go...or they wind up dying tired. 😜
I can't tell whether or not you are using the Outpost Production collectors to consolidate production. That system is what I was referring to. I don't know of any other way to link US to fabricaors. You could make a ton of Zero Wire on Skink or Denebola I-b if you could find an overlapping Biome and link them to US. That would save a step. The key for me is to take advantage of the Universal/local time ratios. See my video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oMoG2VWrASc.html to see the loacations that will give you the highest production. Using US with my planet map, sleep 4 hours, and you will have a fortune but you must set up where you have the 100 to 1. Charybdis V or Katydid I where you can locally mine needed resources. Let me know how it works
@@willny4 sorry I was slow getting back to you. Yes, I was using the Outpost Production Collectors to fill up the Universal Stash and share it across my outposts. Was trying to take things to the next step using the Universal Stash/Outpost Production Collectors to the next level, but don't see a way to do it. Think I'll go back to using the Cargo Links for targeted goods and then use the Universal Stash for those common items you just never seem to have on hand when you need them. You've really got my mind racing with this stuff AND am really thinking about pulling my LEAN Six Sigma books off the shelf to see if they might be useful. (I know they will, but that almost seems like work to me.)
@@JimNeumiller In my latest videos on Production I investigate how time ratios affect output. it is incredible.I have only one VTF line with a handful of fabricators and only default extractors but get as much production with less wastethen my full scale outposts with dozens of fabrictors. Check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oMoG2VWrASc.html
