hi, can i ask about the bit you use for the lettering firstly, is this a Vbit for likes of carving wood, i have a spetool bit 60 degree vbit i use on wood, so was wondering if this would be any good? also do you have any links to the bits you use
Hola, excelente, el motor que sostiene a la cuchilla está energizado como para girar hacia la dirección de corte? Si es asi, podrias explicar como es su conexión con la placa por favor? Muchas gracias.
The biggest sheet the WorkBee can cut is 4' x 4' sheets. For larger sheets, such as 8' x 4', you can use tiling. This involves cutting one half of the sheet, pushing the material through, and then cutting the second half. We have a RU-vid video that explains the process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JKyiKZrLPqA.html Yes the machine can cut in 3D!
@@ooznest ok sir and for same percent of speed which machine is better servo or stepper ?does servo gives faster production then stepper with respect to time?
I’ve been trying to figure this out, and I need to know before I screw up my piece- with all of those clamps in place isn’t the dowelling system a bit redundant?
No, because you set the centre of your work piece as the Work Zero, and cut your dowels from there. The square clamps would rely on the piece of material being perfect on all sides
How you would use the to start the file from a certain point. But you have to be careful doing this, and make sure everything is setup as if it was actually at that point when starting the file from there
@@ooznest i mean to ask when the machine stops halfway and we have to start from same point again due to any reason (power shut down, computer or whatever reason). how we know the particular part of the file to start with?
Very interesting video, im just wondering: what about cutting a larger piece that is wider and longer, is itnt possible? Because you need also the space to move it to the other side.
Interesting. I have a 1000 x 1000 screw-drive Workbee from mid 2019 and have no issues with it at all. I would be interested to know if there is anything in the new design that could or should be retro-fitted to the older machine (I sorted out an emergency stop before I ever ran it!). I guess the new thrust-race arrangements put the lead-screws under tension while the old arrangements with the bearings on the inside of the end-plates effectively mean the lead-screws push the carriage but I really can't say I have encountered any issue with that arrangement.
@@ooznest Many thanks for the reply. Am I right in thinking the upgrade would involve the lead-screws of the existing machine being replaced with longer ones?
@@ColinMill1 It would depend on your exact version. If you contact us here, we can check the version number and let you know what you need: ooznest.co.uk/help/\
I literally had to turn my studio speakers at MAX volume, to still not hear you clear and at a normal decibel lol. You need to crank your audio way up brother.
It can do sharp 90 degree corners, using something called a swivel. The Vectric tool can work these out for you: docs.vectric.com/docs/V9.0/VCarvePro/ENU/Help/Gadgets/Drag%20Knife%20Toolpath/Drag%20Knife%20Toolpath.html
hello,i can't connect my workbee z1 with UGS (no serial ports found). My connection is ethernet from cnc to usb on laptop using the workbee adaptor. Is this connection right or i must connect ethernet to ethernet?
hello, can your cutting tool be put on a 6mm spindle and if so is it able to cut 10mm coro in a single pass? if so, I will immediately buy your product because I am looking for a cutting tool for coro but which leaves the contours clean
Has it got 3 or 4 nema 23s on the 1500x1500? Really interested in buying one, just need to figure out how much extra it will cost importing to the Rep. of Ireland
It was 4 x NEMA23 Stepper Motors. If you add it to your basket on our website, and put in your postcode, it will give you a shipping price. Then any duties can be calculated by looking at the info on this tab: ooznest.co.uk/product/original-workbee-z1plus-cnc-machine/#tab-delivery
@ooznest Could you please confirm whether or not you CAN use UGS or GRBL control software with the Duet3 controller if you choose? I understand that you recommend Workbee control, however if I prefer to use a standard control software is it possible? i.e is the Duet3 GRBL compatible when using the serial port only?
Hi, I have a few issues with the hotend. I realized after oozing PETG from the top have of the heatblock that the heatbreak and the nozzle were not sealed...seeing that other nozzles are shorter would it be possible to get a slightly shorter block to ensure the gap from the heatend and the coolerblock are maintained? I'm planning to buy a replacement heatblock and sand/grind it down just a bit form the heatbreak side to allow this seal to better work itself.
I'm confused, you sell a tool in your shop made for carbon fibre, but you use a standard 2 flute cutter? Please explain, is the carbon fibre tool on your website snake oil?
Finally I have found a channel that shows us a bit more about the process with CNC's. I wanted to build my own but this looks like a sweet piece of kit my bro. Who builds these CNC routers?? I was pricing the 1500x1500 machine and it was priced at 1,600 with shipping .. I live in Ireland bro. I'm worried about the shipping process tbh. Lotta braindead ppl chuck stuff around in the depots and I worry mine would be broken in transit. What software does this CNC use bro? I'm a newbie to CNC's mate so I really want one with a newbie friendly interface.. LMAO. I heard what u were saying about cutting metal and stuff with the belts version machines so I would defo look to go smaller to have the lead screw instead. The one in this video is really nice bro. What is the size of it again or does the have a specialised code for this one along with the rest.
Hi, we manufacture the CNC Kits. We ship to Ireland without any issues. It uses WorkBee Control here: learn.ooznest.co.uk/Guide/WorkBee+Control+Overview/22 You will need CAM Software, either Vectric or Carveco. All the machines we supply now are screw drive. The biggest we supply is 1500x1500mm and is screw drive. Thanks
Great video bro. Why are the belts so thin? Surely u could use a bigger pulley system and heavier belts for the bigger work area machines?? I've been looking at trying to build my own but I'm now of the mind that my 1st one needs to be a purchase from a reputable seller like yourselves.. I have no idea about electronics and the last thing I wanna do is burn my wee shop down mate.. LMAO..
Hello Ryan, i have a problem with my CNC, it offsets the designed pice from the work pice in X, and Y axis sometimes 5, 6 cm and sometimes 3, 4 cm what am i doing wrong? i followed the steps you followed to the letter and it's not cutting correctly
Hi, are you using the Touch Probe to set the Work Zero? If so, you have to be careful using the fluted section, as if it contacts on the inside of the flute, it could offset your job. Sometimes best to use an old endmill upside down.
OK so I have the XYZ Touch Probe and I understand that when I use it that it "sets" the XYZ Axis relative to the piece of material that I am working on. But in my Vectric Software, there is a reference to Z-Gap above material...should this be set to ZERO then since the Work coordinates have all been set to Zero by the Probe???
Hi Ryan, I've just finished constructing my 1000x1000 work bee and I'm looking at surfacing the spoiler board using the Vectric software I also purchased. You also supplied an Amana Tool 1-1/8" surfacing bit. I've looked at the Vectric faqs and it recommends adding it to their tool database as an Endmill. However it's a little vague as to what Cutting parameters and feeds&speeds to use. could you give us some guidance? I'm after Pass depth, Stepover and percentage, Spindle speed (I think it's 18000), Chip load ( I think it 0.004 inches), feed rate and plunge rate. Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work
Hi Craig, the dimensions you need to add into Vectric can be found on the table on this page here: ooznest.co.uk/product/amana-end-mill-surfacing-3-flute-1-1-8/ If your spoilerboard is MDF 1mm pass depth, 2500mm/min, 40% stepover, 18kRPM would work well. Plunge normally you would set to half your feedrate. Chipload is just calculated automatically from the other settings. Just make sure it is less than what is in this table: ooznest.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Carbide-Tipped-Spoilboard-3-4-Wing-Speed-Chart-v2.pdf Thanks!
help I made a good 3 axis cnc mill/router, it has a mach3 usb interface, i can manually jog it with mach3 software. what free design/drawing program can i use and then convert to gcode for mach3 to run the machine? only want 2.5 axis to cut simple parts either cutting /or up and not cutting. example a 5cmx5cm square with rounded corners with a 3mm hole in each corner. would ugs be able to talk to the mach3 usb interface to opperate the machine?
