@@markstockmaster6790 😁, the easiest way to differentiate between them from the back is license plate location, The ct4 one's is lower in the rear pumper while the ct5 one's is highter in the tank
@@markstockmaster6790 I was driving my 2018 BMW 440i Xdrive. Had a blast with a very good instructor. He pointed out my car is not a sports car, but a sporty car and very heavy. He developed a driving line to deal with the weight of the car. Basically driving to every curb to help rotate the car and reducing the track out so I didn’t have to “get back” to the next corner. It was a great day and a great track.
They built the miata purposely to be slow, to not dissuade first time sports car buyers. It's also about the cost of R&D it would've doubled the cost of the car new if mazda put money into developing an engine for the miata specifically. Sure it would've been even more fun than the car already is. But frankly I think the stock na and nb miatas have plenty of power. If you're a good enough driver you can drive anything hard and still have a blast.
Making it this fast would've defeated the whole purpose of the MX5. You also have to remember, to get a car this fast in the late 80s would've required a much bigger engine. And if they increased the power, they would've had to increase the size of the brakes, increase chassis stiffness, beef up the drive train components (though granded they did that anyway with the 1.8). All of which would've made the car heavier and made it significantly more expensive. Which would've defeated the purpose of making a cheap entry level sports car in the first place. You can have a lot of fun in a standard MX5 unless you're driving in a straight line.
Y’all are both right, I absolutely loved both my Miatas when they were in stock form bc you can go full throttle on back roads and not have to worry about slinging the back end out.. with that being said, I’m gonna buy me another Miata and keep it stock. Right after I buy me a Focus ST lol
@@hudboys8120 I have one that's been turbocharged myself, so I'm not exactly a purist or anything lol. But I drove a friends one a while ago that was stock and in some ways I had more fun in it than my own one because you can drive the absolute shit out of a stock one and it isn't going to get you into much trouble. When you turbo one, you have to show it some respect then. There's fun you can have in a turboed one that you'll never have in a stock one, but you do lose something as well.
@@markstockmaster6790 does the K24 need any special provisions to run 8k? Also, are you running a 6 speed? BTW, that’s one of the best sounding k series I’ve ever heard. I hate the way most Hondas sound and that’s what’s really been holding me back until I heard your car.
@@Between2Turns also FYI the exhaust is the kmiata race header into a full 3 inch back exhaust. It has a magnaflow high flow cat, a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and a vibrant muffler. It's loud, like real loud.
Without a lot of extra work the kraftwerks kit doesn't put out more than 200 wheel. Plus then you're dealing with all of the cooling issues inherent in the bp motor. Furthermore I plan on going turbo with this in the future and this is just a much better starting point than the bp.
Pretty much nothing. It's a stratified tune and I've driven the piss out of it for 80,000 miles. I assume that the exhaust is just somewhat blown out at this point. I have a buddy who swears that I have an aftermarket exhaust.
