In short, they are unprofessional. I quizzed Ryan Walkinshaw about it today on Instagram. He said he “had no idea what happened to it” and when I asked if he could find out, as he’s the CEO, he responded that he “had no idea we were even doing something like that. Sounds like. Pet project from someone that got shelved. I have no interest in doing that sort of work. We have much bigger priorities mate”. I said it’s a shame that they care 0% about the cars and the brand that built the company and I got this response: “Shut up you idiot. My focus is on our core business not a tiny side project that clearly didn't stack up enough for us to do it. Get a life😂” then he blocked me and deleted my questions. GM should take the rights to HSV off Walkinshaw and do a deal with a company who actually respect the heritage and the needs for parts & restoration.
Demand isn't big enough for the U.S factory to have a dedicated assembly line for right side vehicles, but despite being a relatively high income country Australia economy machine isn't big enough for GM/Ford to set up a whole factory plant there. Requiring this extreme invasive take apart and put back together of this driving engine machine, the volatile car manufacturing economics here!

Sadly, as much as he will argue to the contrary, Ryan doesn’t care one iota about the heritage of the company. Like his old man, it’s only about the dollars.
I inherited one of these as a Company Car...WORST CAR ive ever had/driven...it literally fell apart and there was just NOTHING good about it and handled like a Cat on Wet Lino...i was seriously surprised at how bad it was and thankful it wasnt really my car and i wasnt the one that payed for it...Needless to say.....it got traded as Soon as it could be at 80k on the clock...
