Older video, but im a big fan of the 6" Stik O rigged weightless texas rig or wacky...i like the 7 1/4" even better....favorite color is green pumpkin in 7 1/4" with the end tip dyed chartreuse...resembles a bluegill...the 6" baitfish color with some shad scent sprayed on it is great for suspended bass over deeper water

Thanks for watching and commenting. Ive thought about trying the 7 inch I may have to try it out. They are great senkos! After trying a few competitors this past summer I would still say I would rather have bought the stikos. I know exactly which one your talking about also for 6 inch baitfish color i remember looking at that one. Good to know I think I have a few spots up here that might work pretty well at. Good Job!!! Just getting back into fishing after a long absence (too much work, not enough fun) I'm 68 now and I'm going to have time (knock on wood) to do what I enjoy. These seem like a great alternative to the pricey Gamakatsu...........although I will have both LoL!!!

Thanks for watching the vid. Glad to hear your gettting back at it! Too much work and not enough fishing make me a dull boy hahaha! Honestly im pretty impressed with lazer sharp eagle in general for the price. But yes I do still buy gamakatsu for certain things. I like eagle claw also for letting friends and family use fishing rods. Not the end of the world if they snag or whatever. Best Regards, Leland

@leland_tv717 2 месяца назад
I get an entire season atleast out the batteries and maybe more. Easily a few sessions a month april - nov. I did not disconnect them last season so when i fired it up over the winter they were dead but im thinking if i had just disconnected the batteries they might still have juice left in them. That being said they are easy to turn off and i do keep extra batteries just incase - hope this helps. Best Regards, Leland

Hi, I didn't get where the jello came in to the process. Thanks for posting, I gotta get this going. I use chick peas rolled in paprika & cooked for 5 minutes in an air frier. But you have to have options.
@leland_tv717
@leland_tv717 2 месяца назад
Thanks for watching! I mix the pineapple jello into the dry mix with the flour,sugar, and cornmeal. It acts as a flavoring and the carp really like pineapple for some reason. You have luck using chickpeas for carp? I have never tried I may have too Best Regards, Leland
@Smiffy830
@Smiffy830 2 месяца назад
@leland_tv717 hi Leland, so , I use tinned chick peas, drain them in a sieve & run cold water over them. They're better if you remove the husk, it's laborious but worth it. Put them in a oven tray & sprinkle over turmeric or paprika, you could use chilli powder, curry powder. Put them in the air frier for 4-5 minutes, or oven. Let them cool off. I use them mainly for carp & barbel, not sure if you know barbel or you may have another name for them in U.S.A. I'll raid my wife's cake mix tub & boilies are being made soon. Take care, best wishes. D.

it's good to use 6lb *8lb 10lb around your local lakes * pounds rule of thumb is just use your reels compasitity for what your reels recommendations just soak your line in luke warm water for a few hours or overnight to take out the memory coming off your spool of fishing line on to you reels diameter

I caught a 23 pound freshwater drum on the 8 pound version and a 8 pound Northern pike on 4 pound! Just keep your drag set light and change it out every couple of months. I use the 20 and 25 for catfishing. I also use the 20, 30, and 50 pound versions for leader material. It’s awesome cheap line!

@@leland_tv717 yes...I was thrown off by the new generic looking red and white new pqckage design vs the fancier yellow and blue. Makes me wonder why they did it? Looks like a bobber or VanHalen's diver down CD cover now. I bought the 20 and 30 pound versions the other day. It sure seems exactly the same quality to me. I put the 20 pound version on my cheap 25 plus year old economy catfish spinning rod. It casted WAY farther than the old style 25 pound version so maybe it's improved. I see they offer another line called the "outcast" with less line on the spool for the same price range at other big box stores. I read it's Re branded Shakesspear or Spurh bend line. If it is ill stay away from that stuff. I've tried both of them from shopko in the 70's and 80's. Extremely brittle and brakes super easy. The onmi cast is tough line and can take a good amount of abrasion before braking. Apparently Omniflex is not offered anymore is being replaced by the outcast line. I called zebco to confirm. It's also less yardage per spool. Hopefully it's the same line rebranded....again.
@leland_tv717
@leland_tv717 5 месяцев назад
@@tripplebeards3427 Great info I really appreciate it. Haha I agree I liked the old label a lot better on it. Maybe to keep the price low they had to change the graphic or something? If you ever cant find the Omniflex or wanna try something just as good I recommend its close cousin Cajun Red. The Zebco Cajun Red line is also some really tough stuff, review coming. Best Regards, Leland

@@leland_tv717 I just liked it becuase it was $2.50 for a giant spool...and it was good stuff. Hopefully the re branded "outcast" line that replaced the Omniflex is the same line. It's about 50 yards less per spool and buck more.

I’ve bought a lot of it in every poundage. I caught at 23 pound freshwater Drum on the 8 pound version! Several catfish up to 10 pounds. Caught a 8 pound northern pike on the 4 pound version. I also use the 20, 25, 30, and 50 pound versions for leader material. I DO replace my line every three months or so to keep it fresh. It’s not my goto line by any means but just goes on my cheap panfish and heavier versions go on my economy catfish rods. I have WAY too many rods so I don’t line them all with braid. The Berkeley big game 20 and 30 pound braid is awesome.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Zebco Omniflex! I ended up making another video after this one after I caught a massive carp and didnt break the line. Its really tough stuff for the price. Is the reason you change the line out 4x/year because you fish alot or do you feel like the line tends to get curly as it ages? I noticed ice fishing it does tend to curl on me a little bit. Not enough to be a problem for the price but its present. Actually at my local walmart they just changed the graphics on the label of Zebco Omniflex to something a little different. Have you noticed this also? Best Regards, Leland

my opinions is that any line will do fine if you have just straight mono, but for leaders you want a soft mono that braid will cut into easier, ive tied fg knots with this and it works just fine, but a pr doesnt grap and just slips. for the pr knot you need a softer mono.
