There a so many types of washers provided with this fan. I know the directions mention using the a lock washer and a star washer to connect the mounting bracket to the ceiling fan box, but what are all the other washers used for?
Hi Colby. The ceiling fan I have is not the same make. Are the frequency switches usually located like the one that you show in your video, under the base by the ceiling? Thanks for your help!
Seems like a lot of people have asked you how to reverse the fan and you haven’t responded. My wall remote does not have a reverse icon or functionality. And I can find no switch on the fan itself. So…?
Would a newly installed (< 30 days) OUTSIDE rated fan (52") on a sloped ceiling be a good candidate for a screw check? I have installed MANY fans over the years and none have developed a wobble so early if at all. TKS
I have an older fan, with no switch to reverse the fan blades. I also have the same remote that you showed in this video. I need to reverse the blades. I have tried to change the little switches inside the remote, but then the fan does not work. Can you help me please?
@michellesintas1252 We've had so many problems with this fan, since we bought our home. The Sellers bought this fan brand new from H*me Dep*t back in 2023, and we got the receipts from them to prove it. Called the store and confirmed the purchase. They were controlling the fan from some app on their phone while they lived here, and when they moved, they uninstalled the app from their phone & from that point on, the fan did not work at all. We called Minka Aire, and they sent us a new receiver. Electrician came here, installed new receiver, and the fan/light were working. That was 3 mos ago, and we didn't use the fan since then, because it was storming here & cold. Now 3 mos later, it's warm here, we tried to use the fan, turned it on, and now the light won't go off. We called Minka Aire again, & they said to turn off the fan from the breaker, wait 1 min, turn the breaker back on, and then hold down the button on the remote that looks like a "little black square" for 30 seconds. They said THAT should reset it. Did it reset it? No. We called Minka Aire for the 3rd time, and now have an appt with our electrician to come here. We wanted a simple fan like we used to have, where we set the speed by the old-fashioned chain and the button on the wall was simply ON/OFF. Thing is, we had low ceilings when we had those fans. Here, we have vaulted ceilings and you need a fireman's ladder to get up there. Call us crazy, but we don't like these SMART devices that are all over the place and no, we're not really old people. We're in our late 30s.
Wow, after reading far more than a few of the comments, until I got tired of reading all of the assorted problems that people have, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the fan & remote from Hell.
This fan and remote came with the new house we bought, and I’ve had it for almost a year, and I don’t like it. Every couple of days or so, the fan won’t run, and I have to get up and walk over to the wall switch, turn it off & back on , then hold the off button on the remote for 5 seconds, and then it will start again. But why does the damn fan keep shutting off every couple of days, and I have to get up and go through the same routine again? I don’t have a manual and I’m trying to find out how to correct the problem, but I haven’t read or heard it discussed yet, that can’t be normal?
We don't have a fan reverse switch or remote. We found that flipping the wall on/off switch very rapidly (with conviction) the fan will slow and begin to rotate the other way. We've had to do do this twice and it has worked. Found this answers after hours of digging through the internet. So I'm leaving this comment here in case it helps someone else!
I am unable to start the fan using my remote control. It was working and suddenly stopped The battery light is green I am wondering how to fix this problem
