I started my first website back in 2017 following an online step-by-step video on RU-vid from Alex @WPEagle. Within 4 hours I had built my own website from scratch with no experience at all.
I was fed up with my high-pressure corporate job and wanted to work from home and have more free time to do the things I love and spend quality time with my family.
Since then, I have built several websites that now make me over $15k a month. I have also sold many websites. Some for 5 figures and my first year as a full-time blogger I made over $150k
5 years later I am now a Full-Time Affiliate Marketer and a website owner with a small portfolio of websites. I’m also the founder of the Affiliate Gathering event.
If I can do it, trust me so can you!
I had No experience and No computer or writing skills at all. Follow me as I share my journey on YT

Happy for Marie but absolutely gutted we might be losing AG forever. Hope someone buys it or at least another similar event pops up somewhere in future. AG was more than a business, it was a place to unite online business owners and bring them together to share ideas and network. It's been some of my most fond memories over the last couple years and I sincerely hope this isn't the last one!
Well it is an online business but needs me to be out more in public to push and drive it forward. It’s not a shop or anything. Can’t be doing with all those overheads. lol
I have enjoyed the Affiliate Gathering for the last 2 years. Thanks for conceiving and nurturing this great event! Good luck with your new offline business. (Curious to know what you are getting into 🤔)
@@MarcP5267 at the size we grew it to. Not too much. 1-2 hours a week for the first 6 months. Then then 6 months run up to it. Maybe 3-4 hours per week. Then the last 1-2 months as much time as is needed. But i feel to grow it to the next level it will take a lot more time for marketing.
Also in your course do you show people how to get accepted - ie grow from 0 to having sufficient number of follower/engagement. I am not active on social media and also do not particularly want to engage with my own social group as i prefer to be private. However I am happy to start from scratch with Tik Tok and attract followers who are not related to me in any way, but would just value advise on how to do this quickly
Hi Carl, thanks for this VID, just to clarify, even if the UK program is experiencing some differences, it is still possible to join the US program even if base in the uk (as long as you are careful to use products that are exactly the same or find creative ways to make them appear the same when reviewing?) Is this correct? I am keen to join your course but just want to make sure it is worthwhile ie i could earn from the US ?
Ezoic are now allowing advertisers to discriminate against content creators based on their ethnicity, gender, etc. The are allowing advertisers to specify DEI. Steer well clear. I'm moving my account
If the promote feature worked as it is said to work, I and I'm sure most channels would continue paying to promote new videos. Since I got screwed and my entire channel tanked after paying hundreds of $$$ - I realized it was not genuine views and subs. Therefore I won't be paying again. Besides they started asking me for ID to continue after I got ripped.
@@CarlBroadbent I know lots of creators are moving to alternate platforms, can't be worse than what's happened to YT for creators without millions of subs.
@@dinorossi6611 try not to need editing. The process should be simple , quick and easy with these. But if you have to I use IMovie or adobe rush. But any software will do as it will hopefully only need a small amount of editing.
I have seen clicks in Canada in the last 3 days - 1 sale, UK no clicks at all, Australia 1 click yesterday. To me UK and AU are similar to how they have been, but at least Canada is coming back on board. Amazon US, my conversions in the last 3 days are at 17.29%. Are you still uploading videos? I feel you have to upload a new video every 5 days to keep it performing decently. At least what I have seen for the last year+. I have also slowed down after hitting 1,000 videos and now go more quality, so that helps- though videos are so time consuming. Hope it keeps working well for you. I'm building up my faceless YT channel, so I always have a backup just in case. =)
Why you didn't focus on the trend products? many tools are providing such data for free (Free for 7 days), also you can produce a video promoting any product on TikTok, or Amazon with one click! It's easy if you have an affiliate account :)
I’ve had an affiliate account with them for about a year now, can you give tips on making shoppable video? I need help! My sales have been terrible lol
RU-vid and other social networks always go easy on bot traffic, because they get to market it to their advertisers as legitimate clicks, and charge them all the same, as if the engagement was genuine. Now they can run the same type of scam on small creators. They know, that if people are willing to buy clicks from 3rd parties, then they might as well throw money into Google's pockets instead. Get the same fake reinforcement, without the threat of the channel getting nuked. Like buying boosts in a videogame, that at the end of the day don't amount to anything. There is a disclaimer on Promotions that says views and subs gained through it do not count towards watch hours and channel monetization. Ahem... after they present you with the option to "grow audience" with this promotions tool. They are contradicting themselves literally inside the same form. All they want is your money in exchange for an ego boost. It's them doing the job of click farms to fool users instead of corporate advertisers. This is total greed.
I tried this garbage also. I have a new channel all about bedtime stories for adults to help them sleep. My subscriber count went up, but my viewing hours towards getting monetized "didn't count." I should have read the fine print. And I was also getting people who were not my target audience; they simply came, subscribed, and went away. What an absolute waste of money RU-vid's promo is. Live and learn I suppose. Good luck with your channel. Cheers.
I've heard most of the new subs and views are bots out of India. They only view the required 30 secs to register a view and then click off. This tells the algorithm that your viewers don't like your content and your channel rating plummets - thus no new recommendations.
Cheers Carl. Thank you for once again putting on a great event and even more so in what has been a challenging year since the previous AG. I'm very much looking forward to seeing and hearing how you grow and develop your business and new projects. I would also encourage anyone considering going to AG next year to defiantly do it. Rob
Thanks Rob and I think my wife would like another night out with that ladies 😂 PS, the kebab was way too hot. I accidentally doubled up on the hot sauce
Not related, but any idea why on Mobile phones it shows around 1 year old version of my site, even with plugins that I no longer use? Cache clared many times, tried on several devices and network connections... :)) Any idea would help :))) Thank you :)
I’ve got some good video ideas coming. I feel that we can all just sit back for another 12 months and moan about Google and our sites getting hit or we move on and start changing things. I’m sick of waiting on Google. No more. I’m taking action
@@BucketListTravellers no. It’s where you make videos about products and they are placed next to them on Amazon Checkout my other channel about that. side hustle insider it might help explain it better. There is a full tutorial
We really miss lot of bloggers who were sharing their expertise and experiences on youtube before. Those were good old days. The community we had. Really glad to see this excitement in you Carl. Looking forward to your content and also hope one day I can take part in Affiliate Gathering too.
There's a lot of risk for RU-vidrs in this space. They become a target, it's hard enough without people trying to steal your ideas or just hurt your business. So, many went quiet and took themselves out of the public eye.
Great to see you so excited again, Carl. And I hope your websites will get back on track again. But you mentioned this was a lightbulb moment, but diversifying your traffic sources isn't new, right? I mean Gary Vaynerchuk talks about this for years already. I pre-ordered his new book that comes out this month, Daytrading attention, which is all about how to use the different social media platforms to get eyeballs. So perhaps worth taking a look.
