Congrats on taking second place!! Quite interesting insight on the tournament. I did play Refia control at euros and think its still slightly favored on the matchups, so I'd love to know your thoughts about it.
I think the deck is really really strong, I've just felt the mono decks set up so much faster and have access to tools (at least my versions) that really hinder 4cs gameplan With amat, titan, hecatonchier, and tidus in mono earth and then witch of the fens, cuchulain, and 3cp levi in mono water I never saw a resolved refia or faris, and I was usually set up long before the refia or faris mattered I think that game is definetly winnable but I think witch of the fens was a really huge nerf to decks who use 7ks as a primary strategy
I love this deck, finding what cards to cut down on was pretty tough. Managed to fit 2x mist dragons in though since I can't afford rufus at the moment.
Watched gameplay of those games and for sure decided myself to dive in and play twin both with a Tavis variant and a relm variant . I've always been fearful of playing the twins and getting blasted.
Way too many faults on FF8 side. Not only killing Lunafreya from LB, but not playing Selphie in the end basicaly was like giving up. As a matter of fact playing Selphie would put Steve under a lot of pressure of who to blank with Cuch. Squal - to block a Seifer that would Selphie bring to hand. Rinoa - to block her ability, or wait for Seifer that would have Haste from Selphie.
I think that it is also a great example that newest Raijin and Fujin are not that good unless you are able to utilize their shock value instantly. The previous R&F on Damage 3 alongside Seifer would be a GG for Steve.
@@detbasil That Eden is topic for 30 minutes discussion why there are no valide FF8 backups except Cid. Now that Selphie forward is better than backup we are in desperate need of non-forward FF8 backups
Steve: "Oh how i wished I could mulligen at this time, it is a real shame I cannot..." plays 1cp Ashe kill Irvine, 2 monsters and a 1 cp Gau to bottom deck Selphie, whilst opponent is holding 1 card...This eventually won the game... Yeah you could have drawn much better ;P
2:45 - the atomos trigger to reactivate a backup that entered play this turn… backups have “summoning sickness” don’t they? I don’t think Paul was legally able to dull princess goblin for CP at this point?
They sort of have summoning sickness. If you reactivate them you can dull them for cp the turn they come in, however you couldn't use abilities that that have the dull symbol as part of the cost
Dont you have to use Blue Wyrm action ability before casting Tidus? It looks like 7 total to me. Also Gizamaluke was already a forward before playing that second blue wyrm, unless that was for protection
Great game. Makes me consider putting chaos into my version. Just a note for future games: You technically missed the trigger for Atomos. Because it says up to because it goes ont he stack as the same time as the second cast, you have to resolve it first.
@@herosofloveanddeathyeah I was a little lazy with declaring atomos triggers when I should have, my bad @detbasil the one-of chaos has been pretty nice, I did try 2 before but even using the special once made me run a real risk of milling out as you draw so much with apkallu etc
That is only true if the second cast in question was a summon. Otherwise, the next time priority happens and the Atomos ability goes on the stack is after the casted character enters the field, in which case their ETB is going on the stack at the same time as said Atomos ability. And there you may order those effects in the order you want.
Had the pleasure of meeting Steve & Remy (Hope I spelled her name right) in store last weekend and they took the time and effort to explain the basics of the game to me and my partner. Hoping we can meet up again soon & eventually start playing
Hey YYT, thanks for the video. Just want to let you know that at 11:05 there was a Missruling. Chaos doesnt choose. The opponent selects one forward to give the controller of Chaos.
